Are you missing home games or are you not too mithered?

Somewhere talking sensible nonsense ; )
Been thinking since attending the Everton game if i miss going to games, it's a yes and a no for me.

It felt quite surreal at the Everton home game after a 15 month gap of having no choice than TV games. I felt fortunate to be lucky in the ballot, big occasion of celebrating another PL title and seeing Sergio in a shirt for the last time.

I'm at a crossroads now on becoming a TV fan through the cost of a season card, especially where i sit for £750 per season.

if i stop going to games i will miss it as it's been habitual for 50 seasons. But i feel as though I'm not enjoying attending games at the Etihad anymore. I will miss meeting my match going mates and the sing songs but i cannot decide whether i can justify shelling out that kind of money, especially when I'm out of work at the moment.

I can't decide really and i could scrimp together 300 quid on a 'Billy no mates' value gold i suppose.

Decisions decisions ? ?

It’s a catch 22, telly coverage is convenient especially when the weather is shit, but I cannot abide gobshites like Ratboy and co.
the odd thing is for the last three or four years I have been turning the volume down so no crowd noise hasn’t mattered to me. Going to the game has too many fuck abouts even before VAR, it’s too sanitised, I am 56 and feel like I’m in a straight jacket having to sit there quietly. If I want to call a player or the referee a fucking **** then obviously this is going to offend some people, in the old days a natural grouping would take place whereby agitated foul mouth yobs like me could stand alongside fellow vulgarians. these days your likely to get plod paying you a visit in your seat as actually happened for me in the Main Stand at Maine Road. Having said all that I have been a nomad in recent years which itself can be a pain in the arse.
bring back standing for those who want it.

Good post.

I get all that and i think you're a bit like me in being vocal. I've had 4 Value golds over the years due to working away and missing games and it being tge cheapest option. 4 different seats in both CB3 and East stand 3. I gave up trying to start a spng or leap out of my seat like a salmon going to spawn!

110 was the best for atmosphere as i was amongst several 50 odd year old old skool blues still up for a sing song.

I never say in my seat once for 2 seasons there so now I'm used to sitting down in my sofa at home, I don't know whether I will enjoy sitting amongst miserable FOCs up in the gods again. Similar atmosphere to me at home. But at least i can go mental and call the ref a **** without upsetting anyone when watching on telly: )

I was also lucky enough to get a ticket for the Everton game and it was absolutely brilliant to be back in the stadium. Only downside was that I wasn't in my usual seat! :-)
Even when I got home, soaking wet and freezing I still had a smile on my face (underneath the mask!)
I can't wait to get back to proper matches, my real seat and getting ready to tell the Opposition manager that they are rubbish and should keep their players under control. ;-) (without swearing of course)

Bring it on, bring 'em all on. City, the best team in the land and all the world.

EDIT: I know this sounds daft but watching a game in the winter, rain/snow pouring down is proper football watching!! Daft eh?

ha ha sounds very much like my journey, we did the cheapo seats for 2018-2019 after many years in the Colin Bell, the tickets turned out to be pretty good level 3 East Stand but a row apart which wasn’t an issue. 19-20 was all over the show some good some bad, in fact I had one right at the back of the Colin Bell tier three against Palace in one of our last games before lockdown, just stood against a railing all game with some other bod swearing freely as the curve at the back of the stand meant we were a good few feet from any sensitive types.

At a crossroads? Same here. I was fed up of the 2,30 hour drive each way in all weathers and all times then teams parking the bus even before add to that the VAR debacle and it is getting close.

The plus side is that there is nothing like watching at the stadium where you can see everything that is going on on the pitch instead of the focusing on the 'action'.

You know that always makes me wonder if those sensitive types have ever been to a match before? Shouting and swearing at a match is part and parcel of the fun. As you all know I don't/can't swear but I don't object or, to be quite honest, notice half the time. You aren't making them swear. Live and let live is my motto/mantra. JMHO
