I think the term 'schizophrenic' is getting a raw deal here and one that is misunderstood.
My Biological Mother and her only other child, apart from me, both have it. It isn't about having a 'split' personality as such, it's much more to do with messages and voices. The sense of detachment and loneliness with this illness is profound and incredibly sad.
