'Arry to financially cripple spurs?

I am sure Arry doesnt sign the cheques to buy the players or the contracts to pay the wages, in the set up of a football the team manager is merely middle management, there are suits above him who sort the money,
I know Arry's abit of a twerp but come on, show some realisation people.

The club's he has left have found themselves in financial trouble. He is the common denominator in these teams. I'm sure there are varying factors at each club, but it is definite he is one of them. He will be the person who asks the board to sign all of these players. Look at Pompey:
2005 - Harry joins
£7m for Muntari
£7.5m for Defoe
£7m for Utaka
£6m for Nugent
£5.5m for Diarra

Those these don't look like much individually, this is £33m on 5 players. In the three years Harry was at Pompey, £68m was spent on players. For a club of Pompey's size, this is an obscene amount. Add to that he signed veterans looking for a final pay day like Kanu, Lauren, Andy Cole and Sol Campbell, and this is one hell of a wage bill for a team that aimed for survival.

Spurs pride themselves on their wage structure, and I must admit it is something that I admire. The way they attract players like Luka Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart without paying £200,000pw like us is brilliant. But I wonder how much of this is to do with what Comolli did, and what Levy does. I fear/hope that if Redknapp gets his way, then this could be trouble for Spuds.

Well some people love a bit of Uri geller truth bending in this forum. West Ham were fine finacially when he left due to the 5 or 6 current England players he flogged and got 1% of the deals himself. Icelandic people fucked West Ham about 8 years after he had left
As for Southampton they were already up shit creek without a paddle when he joined

No you are wrong, west ham were in the shit when 'Arry was in charge because he spunked loads of money on Hartson, Berkovic and a load of high paid foreigners who had no resale value but were on massive wages i.e radachu(sp)

Im not wrong mate, i happen to know alot about West Ham. They were never blessed with great finances but the England role call of players kept them stable even if Redknapp was doing his wheeling and dealing. £5 million for Hartson and was sold for £7.5 million 2 seasons later, Berkovic cost £1.75 million and was sold for £5.75 million. Then you have Ferdinand who went for £20 odd million, Lampard who went for £11 million. So overall he didnt do too bad there even with all that money he "spunked on Hartson and Berkovic"
