Went on the service train to QPR. Match was on TV so stayed in Springbok pub next to the ground and watched us lose 3-0 I think and I’m fairly sure we wore that kit.

Mention of the 1960-1 season reminded me that as a young kid supporting City our away kit wasn't actually yellow, it was in fact similar to Wolves (Old Gold & Black). Denis Law made his debut v Leeds at Elland Road in that kit (1960). There was a newspaper pic showing a hole in one of his socks with a remark about how City had spent a record fee for him but couldn't afford a decent kit. The media was having a go at us even then !
