Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

The celebrations by Arsenal were fucking bizarre imo. Won on penalties so still couldn’t beat us from open play. It’s a friendly a curtain raiser but you’d have thought it was the fucking CL final. Odegaard whipping the crowd up also bizarre. They threw everything at that game and we clearly have gears to go through. Phil could’ve put game to bed. Ramsdale can bang on about getting over a mental block but they will know the above was true and that their equaliser was lucky as fuck.

It's an official trophy, not a friendly. Arsenal were right to celebrate it. Poor by City to not hold off Arsenal attacks in last minutes. When it went to penalties it was obvious Arsenal is going to win it.

The team isn't operating at maximum capacity, and it still took a fluke deflection and about 12 minutes for them to score against us. The pens were a bit shit but it is what it is. Some vitriol I have seen on twitter from supposed city fans to our players is very strange. The game was a glorified pre season friendly, which Pep probably used to find out what we need before the transfer window shuts.

Why was it obvious Meg ?

Found Arsenal’s OTT celebrations mildly amusing considering they had to be INVITED to play, and weren’t even really there on merit.

Would’ve been nicer to win than not win, but certainly won’t be losing any sleep.

In a way it’s probably not such a bad thing for the players to experience that today if it adds a little more fire in their bellies going into the season.
