Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

Horrendous game, the worst under Pep in the last six seasons. Even when losing in some shockers like Lyon or Chelsea, we were doing something. Today literaly nothing after four minutes of the game.
The way how we've been playing actually looks like Pep left back in June and we are under a new manager.
Even when Liverpool was at their peak 3-4 seasons ago with their front three, they didn't manage to stop us play like Arsenal has done today.
Rodri missing is too convenient as an excuse, our game literally disintegrated in three games when playing in front of shouting away crowd pressed for longer than 5-10 minutes.
Erling was our salvation last season and he is becoming our curse. We just look like playing with a player down right now. For me this is the big pressing problem that Pep needs to address urgently.

could easily happen with Kev's age.... only 8 - 9 games in, we are about 23% of the season in...nothing will be close to being decided until we reach the 80 - 85% mark...miles from that. Arsenal may improve, Tottenham falter, Liverpool to beat all the title rivals (that could be the key) anything could happen. Even we may improve a bit!
This season, when the top six all play each other, it's not obvious who will win - they'll all take points off each other. We're out of form - a bit pedestrian today but Arsenal are closer to their best form. Even then, it was a wicked deflection.

Haven't watched any replay, but why was no advantage played for Rico - accidental handball?

Do we really have to be this boring to watch? Really? There’s no other way? We’re playing like we’re scared stiff to try anything remotely adventurous, but with a few too many players that don’t actually provide all that much control anyway. Does Ake provide control? No. Does Dias? No not really. Does Kovacic? Inconsistently. Does Nunes? No. Foden? Not particularly, he’s a free spirit. Does Doku? No. Does Haaland? No. Walker? Nope.

That’s what I don’t get about us right now. The relentless pursuit of control, control, control, with so many players that are not all about control. We could be really entertaining but it feels like we have to live off scraps and I find it more frustrating than ever. We won the treble… so let’s just play, be free, enjoy it. There aren’t many smiles on the pitch any more in the team for some reason. I don’t think it has to be this serious, we could entertain.

Short memories. Our performance at West Ham was great. 15 shots on target away from home. Great 30 minutes vs Forest. Pretty good at Leipzig...

Pep is here 7 years and people can't get why he wants control despite him explaining it about 1000 times...

So what do you suggest Pep does with this season's Prem top scorer?

We will play brighton, man united, chelsea, liverpool and tottneham in our next 6 league games if i am correct...those could really defy our season.

What we need is not to panic or overthink a problem that is not really there, The season is still very early doors and without any doubt, Manchester City will be the team to beat when it comes to the business part of the season.

Arsenal were very poor and just got lucky in the own goal, There was no way they were opening us up or looking like scoring and our defence and Ederson were in good shape, The middle of the park was a stalemate and no room to swing a cat around,

One thing I will say is, I dare anybody to underestimate us and think we are done and finished because of a couple of bad results, All it takes is what happened when the players were coming off the pitch and Haaland got heated because of a cheeky arsenal player giving it large, THANK YOU you have now lit the fuse paper under the rock and LOOK OUT the rest of you

Don't often agree with Neville but thought he was right today in saying what you have alluded to about some players being tired, although I don't think complacent is the right word, self motivation would be more apt.
Considering all that they went through last season in achieving what they did there was relief mixed in with the celebrations. It is only natural that there would be some drop off both physically and mentally at the start of the season despite however much the say that they are up for it again. Perhaps these losses and the international break have come at the right time allowing them to refocus.
Still think that the only team that can beat us are us. If that win was a statement by Arsenal then it was a garbled one as they didn't really prove that they were better than nor did it tell the others at the top that they now need to worry about them.
Correct - the Ake deflection converted a shot heading for Ederson or going wide into the net. That's all that separated an out of form us and an in-form Arsenal.

So what do you suggest Pep does with this season's Prem top scorer?
Start without him or sub him when it is obvious it doesn't work. He was subbing him last season almost every single game. AN it is obvious his performances are way down since Kev has been out. Even the end of the last season.
