Arsenal (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Holden did shove his forearm into the back of Haaland’s head. Should have been a booking and wasn’t even given as a foul.
He should have had yellow in first couple of minutes when he pulled Haaland down and the ref gave holding the free kick. The elbow I didn’t think was deliberate tbh.

“Happy with the loss”? Ask the 7,500 that made the trip,if they thought it was time & money well spent! Had you have won, I’m sure you’d be saying that you put a marker down, get beat, and you’re happy, it’s bullshit and you know it…
Not really. We are not a team ready to contend in multiple competitions not one booky thought we would have a chance to even compete for league title. The fact that a lot of your fans are making a big deal out of a 4th round cup tie at home tells me that we are doing the right things. You guys should not be so happy about a home FA cup win over a team you beat like 20 times in a row

I hope Arteta runs the lady gunners out in Europa to make a statement on gender equality. I don’t think any Arsenal fans or team cares much about Europa. We aren’t worried about 4th place. But i got issues with Arteta’s rotations and lack there of. He likes to run out the same players maybe too much. Frankly was surprised he played Partey. I would not have.

Overall there are no moral victories but to be able to rotate a bit, play solid, and not get embarrassed at a place we lost 16 months or so ago 5-0. If City wanted to send a message or dent the team’s confidence i doubt that happened. But congratulations always nice to advance in FA cup but we got different priorities.

Frankly, hoping you guys win CL and let us have a the league after you pick up a cup and make a CL final. I’ll be rooting for you guys in CL lol
I wouldn't say different priorities. We're just able to compete for most on offer at the moment. I'm sure you'll get there too if/when you add more depth.

I don't think we sent or received any messages from last night. The league games will be altogether different affairs.

I’d say our team selection played a greater part in our loss than your tactics
Just so I understand. Exclude the back 4 since it was nil-nil for 65+ minutes. Are you saying Trossard in for Martinelli and Viera in for Odegaard playing with Partey, Xhaka, Saka, and Nketia signals surrender? If so, that's a poor situation for the Arse...

Rico seems to have come in for a bit of stick for his performance against the gunners and while he was less effective than in some recent games he still put in a reasonable shift.
This inverted role is a difficult one to pull off for even the most seasoned pros, Walker for example looks far from comfortable when asked to do this.
Lewis has shown his ability to control the ball in tight spaces and his short link up play is exceptional for one so inexperienced. For me it is difficult if not impossible to accomplish this task and fulfil normal full back duties particularly against a team with strong attacking wide players.
On the basis of recent form I would much rather see his name on the teamsheet against Spuds instead of one or two more senior underperformers.
Really harsh but although Rico is clearly inverted as RB, I thought he was slow to get out to Trossard a couple of times in the first half. Would be interested to see him play at some point as a traditional RB and to see his levels.

Just watching last nights ITV match intro, can't believe this bullshit about an arse weakened side and City going full strength. How funny is that, total bullshit, always thought Ederson, Walker, Dias, Cancelo, Laporte, Alvarez and Silva were our main first teamers, not one to be seen on the pitch at kick off.
Had we lost, arthur, the narrative would undoubtedly have been this morning that we lost to the Arse Reserves. As soon as I heard they had made six changes, but let's not forget the PL teams will be the same as each other - a squad of 25 first teamers with the 'reserves' playing in PL2.

They were City fans then? Yes, I could see quite a few empty seats in the City stands a good 10 minutes before the end. Though given the wait for a tram or a bus afterwards, I can understand that
Tickled me last night arsenal fans. Literally not heard a peep for 20 years out of the tarquins. Theyd turn up (always a good following to be fair) but be quiet as a church mouse. Never see em about town. Then last night …. Embarrassingly giving it the big un round town just because there was a few of you. A big day out on the piss , bit giddy cos youre playing the champions wheres as we’d had a day grafting. Singing songs that you expect the likes of wolves to sing.
“Where were you when you were shit?”. Ill tell ya you sausage… getting bigger crowds than you even tho we were in div 2 in the 80s. Thats where we were.

I hope your journey home was long n tiresome after your big day out.

Funniest thing i saw pre match was in piccadilly central pub, some lairy mockney tried to get an arsenal chant going only to be told by the , ironically, cockney landlord to shut the fuck up or get out. Cue mockney sitting down like a scolded child.

Thats the thing with arsenal. No body has every taken them seriously as a fan group. Gooners? Pfft. Fannys
