Arsenal (h) Post Match Thread

Shearer was awesome, but it took him and the colossal Henry about 200 years to hit their final tallies. Sergio is doing it in a shorter timeframe and in fewer games in an era that is massively more difficult than the Shearer/Henry overlapping eras.
Absolutely spot on,it’s never picked up on in the media either if aguero started out at say 18-19 in England he would be past shearer and all ..

He always does - works his socks off. Loved the way he spent some time out on the right - clearly a tactic leaving the Arsenal CBs with no-one to mark. When he's out wide he always plays a decent short pass - nothing extravagant then arrives in the box at just the right time.

Is there a special rule whereby opponents are allowed to foul Sergio with impunity - inside or outside the area ?

It's bizarre how many decisions he doesn't get & I'm convinced he would get most of them if he played for either of two teams in red over here.

Then it doesn't bear thinking how many goals he would have.

Did anyone see the Pep's press conference? And sports journalists wonder why they're not respected in this country. Pep tries out some really interesting tactics for the first time in a really big game and not a single question about it. Instead, we've got a question about whether he thinks Liverpool will lose against West Ham (how could he possibly know) and a question that was basically "Isn't Aguero good?" Hell, they didn't even ask whether he thought the third goal was handball.

After taking an early lead again, and playing very well for 10 minutes, until they had an attack, I thought we were poor in the first half, and probably lucky to go in level.

We had a very good second half though, so much better than Tuesday night, and we probably should have made the score more emphatic.

I'm not a fan of that team though, and when I saw it, I really thought we would get beat, and we could have been too.

It was interesting how we lined up, and how we didn't actually play that way, Fernandhino isn't a CB, and played there regularly he would be a weak link, but most of the time he played his normal role with three behind him, and with Gundogan alongside, but I do think some teams will get at us playing that way.

I've no problem with Pep going all keeganesque in a "we'll score more than you do", but I much prefer the "don't let them have the ball, because they can't score without it" approach.
