Arsenal (H) Post match thread

Good result. Good performance.
When Aguero put his hands on the line persons neck though, what a strange thing to do .

Apart from the two point blank saves by Ederson ?
Tbh both the saves were needed because we lost the ball at dangerous locations. One was sterling losing the ball in mid and other one Cancelo should be clearing that instead of trying something clever.

We're still nowhere near our best but really positive signs after a real team win.

Great to have Aguero back but I honestly don't know what he was doing grabbing the ref assistant like that. Not a good look and something that could land him in trouble. With Jesus' injury I really hope he's not suspended.
Way I saw it, he put hand on shoulder. Not wise especially when official is female. Conversely, if its equal rights for all, should that be an issue? When I saw it on the box, first thing I noticed was, she wouldn't make eye contact, turned her head and wouldn't acknowledge. At that point, I felt typical arrogant official. Then Serge put his hands on and I thought shite mate you shouldn't do that. However, in the after match bit, Dalgleish's daughter stated it wasn't an offence in the rules to make contact with an official? If true, no charge to answer. If incorrect, Serge to apologise if any misunderstanding but certainly not due a bollocking?

I mean on turnover of possession...like we wouldn't be hit suddenly. Its virtually impossible to not give up odd chances against good opposition...

Compared to the usual shambles that was a 10/10 defence.

Fuck me they have one game with VAR decisions going against them and immediately play the victim. I really, really despise these twats

Silly how? He’d do the same to a male linesman. Wasn’t a nasty gesture. I thought folk wanted to be treated the same. Had it been a guy nothing would be said.
Never seen any outrage when Brian clough would put his arm around a female copper.
World gone mad

Really impressed with us defensively tonight, thought Walker and Dias especially were fantastic tonight. We are still lacking a bit in the attacking third but was so good to see Aguero back, even though he was fairly quiet he gives us such a better shape.

Couldn’t figure out our formation tonight, looked a very fluid 4-4-2 with plenty of interchanging and when we had possession one of Rodri or Bernardo dropping in between the centre backs to receive the ball. With Laporte, KDB and Jesus to come back things don’t look quite so bad as some have made out recently.

Think it was a bit ill-judged of Aguero to do that tbh, but talk of a possible suspension seems over the top.

IFAB Rule Book: 12.3: Sending off offences include physical or aggressive behaviour towards a match official.

If it is deemed as aggressive he will be banned. I think it was and I think he will.

Edit: What could save Aguero is if the FA are allowed to retrospectively ban a player for something that obviously involved an official at the time. They can't say they didn't see it.
