From reports I have been reading this morning looks like Ozil may have done his ACL in last night. How long would that keep him out for? I am assuming 6 months?

damn, looks like Arsenal could have a record breaking season the way they are playing, seem unstoppable.

Heard that the game today was not as impressive as it seemed on MOTD, but their goals were of the highest quality. All of their players have so much confidence at the moment.

i wouldn't say not as impressive, i watched most of the game online.

we certainly didn't play as well as the highlights suggested between about 35 and 60 mins, and norwich had a few chances. could have maybe been 2-2.

however the way we played reminded me of a lot of the past great arsenal teams - obliterate opponents in short sharp spells of devastating football, and sit back for the rest of the game and use the counter attack. we have done that a lot this season, against swansea, against napoli, and we did that today, but there were also at least 4/5 other passages of play that, had we converted them, would have ended up being as good as the goals we did score.

the quality of our football in passages was spell binding and i wouldn't say that 4-1 flattered us however yes norwich had a couple of chances and it could have been 2-2 and maybe a different story and norwich were a good team.

and before anyone says anything I'm not comparing this team to the invincibles yet however there are a lot of similarities.

i definitely haven't seen an arsenal side as good as this since the invincible. the side we had in 07/08 that were leading the league till that eduardo injury might have been as good as far as the first 11 goes but the problem was the options outside the 11, they just weren't good enough, we had players like denilson/bendnter etc.

whereas this season we've got tremendous depth of quality despite what everyone says.

for example against napoli someone came off to be replaced by wilshere.

today flamini came off to be replaced by ramsey.

we still have gnarby on the bench, podolski walcott ox to come back from injury, its just a embarrassment of riches in midfield and wide positions.

You've still got bendtner....

Unless arsenal sign another top class striker, I think they will come short of the title.

true, and i'm not saying hes top class but he does seem to have sorted himself out.

he was always a very good striker, had all the attributes.

but anyway the difference is providing they are fit we've got walcott and podolski that can play there if we don't fancy bendtner.

also as i've mentioned before, we are scoring goals from all over the pitch, today our 4 goals were scored by midfielders, of which we have plenty of.

wenger made a good point earlier this year that the game is changing and teams are relying less on a world class out and out striker.

I'm not too worried about goals because Cazorla, Podolski and Cazorla have missed quite a lot of games this season (well the first two, practically all) and they scored 49 goals for us last season combined. If we can get to January with Giroud (+walcott & podolski) playing there and sign a striker, I'll be very happy.

exactly and even if we don't sign a striker i think we can cope with having walcott an poldi as options seeing as the rest of the team is chipping in with goals

Arsenal are looking worryingly good at the moment.

But I think they will suffer badly from poor squad depth once the injuries and suspensions start piling-up.

Ramsey was compared to Zidane yesterday, and the comparison was not ridiculous.

Arsenal are indeed worryingly good at the moment. they just seem to have grown in confidence.

I watch their games hoping they will get beat, but then have to grudgingly admit that they are playing really really well.

looking like it's going to be a City Arsenal and Chelsea title race

-- Sun Oct 20, 2013 9:10 am --

Ramsey was compared to Zidane yesterday, and the comparison was not ridiculous.

Ramsey looked sublime yesterday. If he keeps this up Real Madrid will be in with some ridiculous offer!

Hopefully, the fact that Arsenal have bought their current standing by virtue of paying more for a player than City have ever paid, won't silence their overbearing posturing about "doing things the right way". Their endless hypocritical and self-righteous pontificating has been a source of unmitigated pleasure since 2008 ! I also hope, for the sake of Brian Glanville's faux principles, they win nothing again this year.

Unlike previous seasons Ramsey he has started this one fully fit for arsenal, the worry is for them keeping him fit,as previously he has been injury prone...As for arsenal playing fantastic football at the moment, and still have a few out injured, reckon they will go close with chelsea and ourselves but they will just fall short....

I don't think injuries can get any worse than they've been so far, we've had the most in the premier league. Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker have all missed games this season due to injuries and Koscielny because of a suspension. Arteta, Cazorla and Walcott have all missed 6 weeks of the season through injury (probably our most important players last season). Podolski and Chamberlain will have missed 3 months of the season when they get back. We've had a hell of a lot of players missing and they're all slowly coming back for us, so the idea that our squad hasn't been tested is not true because it most definitely has.
