Stands to bleedin' reason, dunnit?

They are still very much in the race. I'm not getting too giddy yet as I think we need to win all our games, including beating them. We have a great chance though and their games yesterday and last week are a good sign.
I agree we have a lot of work to do and Arteta is a slippery customer.

We have to fight on 3 fronts whilst they have the league to concentrate on. A lot can go wrong but City look in better shape and have a better balance to the team compared to where we were late January.

Whether this is better suited to the title race thread or this thread I don't know but I am far from convinced by the theory that Arsenal are feeling the pressure and that it is this that has led them to surrender points in matches in which they have led 2-0 early on. For the first 20 mins at Anfield and the first 30 mins at West Ham Arsenal were positively majestic and showed no evidence of the effects of pressure at a time when it should have been most evident. On Sunday it was WHU who looked to be more under pressure, which was not surprising in view of the danger of relegation, and this may well explain their slow start. I think it was Tolmie who argued that Arsenal haven't actually been playing that well over 90 mins for a while and I agree that this, as we near the end of a uniquely difficult season which is a better explanation than "pressure" - though pressure may explain individual incidents like the missed penalty. I am not arguing that Arsenal have "blown it" and that City will march inexorably to the title. We still have to play the gunners at the Etihad and though Arsenal have some tricky matches to come so do we, and we still have 8 games to win compared to their 7. If we have to win all 8 we would finish with 18 consecutive victories just in the PL - an amazing feat! We still have Brighton to play and we hope we have to rotate to win 2 other competitions! This is difficult but if we have one real advantage it is a striker who can win any match. We have to keep him fit and firing.

The end of the season could be bloody for everyone. With so many teams fighting relegation, there may be quite a few points lost. Teams that might typically sit back and hope for a tie with us (or Arsenal or ManU or Tottenham or whoever would typically be a guaranteed loss for any of these squads) will now be fighting tooth and nail, ever match. Could be quite interesting. I fully expect us to drop some points along with way. What would be a deliciously hilarious situation is if we lose or tie Arsenal in our match with them but still win the table.

They’ve bottled it and they know it now ............ 2-0 up in two games against sub standard sides and they failed in both occasions .......... I actually thought they may do it but Anfield put a doubt in my mind and yesterday was the same......... they should win on Friday but after that I can see some serious damage incoming ........... they may have to win every game from now till the end of the season I simply cannot see it happening and I honestly think it will be done and dusted before the last game of the season even before that .............Should you lot beat them then they will actually fall to bits in my opinion

You may drop points but I bet the league will be done and dusted when it happens
