Arsenal Thread | 2024/25

What awful transgression did the refs commit today to deny Arsenal their rightful place as winner of everything? Not enough red cards given ? Should have been awarded 3 more penalties?

Not really sure what they're all crying about. You would think they've gone from winning everything to struggling, basically like us.

They've been winning fuck all anyway. Nothing has changed except Liverpool haven't given them chance to be frontrunners and bottle it again like the last couple of reasons. Apart from that, it's business as usual.

Imagine how these fannies would be in our position, going from winning trophies non stop to making it hard work of getting a CL spot.

Everyone saying how refreshing it was to have no VAR, but that Havertz penalty would surely have been reversed, possibly booked for diving, then got his second yellow for the handbags & another dive as he hit the deck from a sniper in the crowd.

Because they thought they were on the edge of ‘something’. The writing was utterly on the wall when they came to our gaff and not only played for a draw but totally wasted time in a way i have never seen a ‘top team’ do in 46 years of watching city.

A top team goes to their biggest rivals for the title and puts a marker down. “We are here to beat you and show you whos boss”.
Lego head just shit his pants and it of course cost them the title.
His over emotional way of coaching was never going to take them to that next level and now the fambludbro’s are getting edgy

Wonderful

They should change their shirt colours from red to yellow: that was an utterly spineless performance against ten-man relegation fodder.
Serious questions should be asked about Arteta's future, because to me there have been no noticeable signs of improvement in the last few years under his direction. They need a goalscorer, someone with the guile and the tenacity to be in the right place at the right time. Someone who can convert the chances they create - because in all fairness they are creating a lot of chances. But of course proven goalscorers are as rare as bottles of sun-tan lotion in Los Angeles right now. Instead they doubled Saka's workload and are now paying the price, giving them a couple of weeks to buy a stop-gap. Very wise.

But the real issue for me is how stagnant they have become. So overly-cautious and timid in going forward, Arteta has become another Southgate: no creativity in midfield, too many sideways passes, he has them playing as though they are frightened they may become infected by some ghastly virus if they get too close to the opposition's penalty area.

There are bottlers in football, then there are serious bottlers in football - and then there's Arsenal.

They reminded me of City in our slump from November, ponderous slow build up, zero belief and open to the counter. They’ve shown they haven’t learnt anything about resilience in winning games from missing out on the league the last two seasons. We get our act together we can certainly finish above this lot this season.
