Arsenal Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Sense Bobby was a bit disappointed with our second half showing...said we were too soft. I wonder if he means not ruthless enough.

My only disappointment was some less than ruthless finishing, especially the Tevez chance and i can only assume he meant that.

We were excellent today, away at arsenal, a ground we have not won at since 1975 and a game we knew we had to win having gone 10 points behind.

today was a real statement from the gaffer and the squad and regardless of how the season pans out, if we keep on playing as we are, i will be a happy blue and im sure, most others will be.

Hate doing this but any fooker saying that was a red card is a Rag!

Not only are they Rags, they are fooking no nothing Rags who have never kicked a ball in their lives.

Red card my fooking arse!

Even most of the rags on ragcafe are saying its not a red.

On the issue of the Kompany red card, surely this is a clean challenge?! wins the ball with one foot, doesn't jump off the ground, in control. Poor decision from Dean imo. Hope we appeal.

I can clearly see why it was a red card from the angle closest to what the ref's view of it was. I have no problems with the decision. From that angle it looked a dangerous tackle.

From the other angles you can clearly see that it was a good tackle. It should be rescinded. But surely you have the knowledge of the rules, history of what refs send players off for and that one view to see why he was sent off?

Fantastic performance.

Have never seen us beat Arsenal at their place. In fact normally they run rings around us. Even recently we normally go to defend.

This time straight out the blocks. Bossed possession even before the sending off. Hart was a spectator. Could have been more. Should have been more. Passed the ball well. All this without Yaya and Kun.

Buzzing.

Irrespective of what United did today I felt we needed to win this game if we wanted to remain champions. Looks to me like we are up for it.

Khaldoon al-Mubarak and Roberto Mancini having a whale of a time in the Emirates foyer. Exchange a proper man-hug on parting.

Sounds like a man on his way out doesn't it? :)

Its a farewell hug

People who don't know the rules think it's three. It's actually one.

Oh, by the way, well deserved win where we twatted them. Seeing good chances spurned is disappointing but we were easily worth a two goal victory.

Straight red 3, two yellows 1. Who doesnt know the rules ?

Straight red for a non violent tackle such as DOGSO is a 1 game ban only.

Kos for them will get 2 matches, one for the red and one extra because its his second one.

He was sent of for a perceived two footed off the floor tackle. How can it be anything other than 3 martches. Although it will be rescinded.

A good team performance and a great result today. RM got the tactics and formation right today for an away game. We need more like that. Arsenal red card was right decision on a stupid play so early in the game. City red card was harsh decision on VK who maybe deserved a yellow card.
I was there the last time we won a league game at the old Arsenal in 1975, with goals by Asa Hartford & Joe Royle & Rodney Marsh. That was a great team with some great individual players. Today I watched in a bar 3,000 miles away and saw a great team with some great individual players who are now starting to play better as a team. Seven point deficit with 16 games left to play can still be overcome, as Reds earlier today were unconvincing.
