Arsenal boss Wenger wants curbs on Man City spending power
21.12.08 | tribalfootball.com
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants curbs on the spending of Manchester City.

"I don’t agree with the transfer window," Wenger told arsenal.com. "I think they should either open it for the whole year or close it for the whole year. But at the moment it is an in-between solution which is, for me, personally bad.

"I think it will be quiet [this year] because most of the clubs have no money. Except Man City.

"I think this season Manchester City will not come back to fight for it [the title] but you know my opinion about that and I think that clubs should live on their natural resources.

"I am convinced that it will happen. The next step for Uefa is to force the clubs to live within their natural resources which is the right decision. It would mean teams with the most supporters to earn the most potential. It would force the clubs to look for more fans."

got to 'tribal football' and stopped reading , sorry .

thats fine, but the quote is from arsenal.com

i find it amazing that a club, possibly the first to sell its naming rights ie the emirates can have the audacity to question where city aquire their money.

also a major backer of arsenal left recently, and they have been in the club for 70 years, and unless someone corrects me, i am led to believe they were of indian descent.

twats like wenger protest they want an even playing field yet the big four have had more sky money than anyone else and more european money.

total hypocrites.

He just can't stand the thought of being challenged and beaten for the title by 'little citeh'.
The hypocrisy of him and Baconface cracks me up.

If rich owner want to pump money into a club, they'll do it one way or another

Natural resource will just result in big sponsorship deals or club owning Hotels and Casinos shopping complexes or other way of getting money into a club

As much as i hate the man, he has been one of the few managers who hasn't said anything particularly negative about our takeover. All he did was have a go at the interviewer when he was asked about us, which is understandable (how pissed off would you be if at a City press the questions were all about the rags?)
