Apologies wrong thread please delete.Good analysis. Grealish should have a hat trick but MOM so far.
Big Blue John Timpson (retail fella) fostered nigh on a hundred kids with his late wife, it’s a bit of a vocation, very commendable.Couple that sit in front of me at The Etihad have been fostering for many years and they're in their 50's. Age is no bar but (in my opinion) you've got to be a bit special to do that job when faced with some of the emotionally damaged kids that you get. Although not all are, as some kids have to go into care for all sorts of reasons, such as illness in the family. To be able to give a kid the love and warmth they need in these situations is a very special gift.
Prior to lockdown, I was trying, via City Matters and CITC, to get together groups of City fans involved in things like fostering, helping disadvantaged teens, mentoring, etc. This was os that they could offer each other support and hopefully promote what they were doing to a wider audience, in order to help others get involved.

I’ve heard a bit of that when John was on Desert Island Discs, top fella. I think as an aside Timpson’s always give staff their birthday off as a free holiday, he’s a truly great guy. Hopefully our left wing contingency wouldn’t slag his his son off because he’s from the “wrong side”.His lad Eddie is a conservative MP and was minister for children a few years ago. John is a lovely fella. I presented with him a few years ago at one local authority. He wrote a number of little books / guides that are on a variety of topics relating to children and fostering. Managing behaviours, attachment, etc. They are on every counter in every Timpsons shop for free. Have a look if you are ever in there.
Timpsons employ a lot of ex offenders and train them up. They also run a few restaurants on Anglesey that employ and train young people and ex offenders in the restaurant and hospitality trade. They will also clean clothes for homeless people going for job interviews for free and do an awful lot for charity. One of the companies that can say that they really do make a difference. If anyone fancies a really refreshing view on management and how to treat people within a company, have a read of John’s book called Upside Down Management.

Fair enough, there’s no problem with us having thought provoking different ideals, we always need to question our own thinking. We should always be open to new thinking, BM is a cracking thought provoking site.I'm not sure people get slagged off just for being the wrong side it is usually for their actions and positions they take.
Having read up a little on Edward Timpson, it doesn't seem there is anything controversial about him. Seems a decent "local constituency issues" MP and he doesn't seem like someone who always takes the party line, because he voted against privatisation of Royal Mail.
