Quotes from Marton Fulop and all that ut the bit that interested me was the bit in bold. First thing I've read about Joe's view.

Emergency stopper Marton Fulop promises to keep Manchester City's top four finish dream

City turned to the Hungary goalkeeper as a replacement for the injured Shay Given when their attempts to recall Joe Hart from his season-long loan at Birmingham were thwarted by the Premier League late on Tuesday night.

Fulop, 26, could not have arrived at a more critical time. City have three games left to clinch a place in the Champions League and the next two are at home to top-four rivals Aston Villa and Tottenham.

High flyer: Marton Fulop trains with his new Man City team-mates on Wednesday

Fulop said: ‘I’m ready to play. I came here to do a job for the club.

‘I feel good and we need a win to get fourth place, which is so important for City. When I got the call I was more than happy to come and help the club.’

Fulop has lost out to Craig Gordon for a first-team place at Sunderland this season, making only 13 appearances.

He has kept two clean sheets, conceding an average of nearly two goals a game, but believes he can adapt quickly to his new surroundings, saying: ‘They are top quality defenders at City so I am not worried about anything.’

Given joined second-choice Stuart Taylor on the sidelines after dislocating a shoulder in last weekend’s draw at Arsenal — he had surgery in London on Wednesday — leaving City with only Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen to call on.

It is believed Hart was keen to return to Eastlands and play in three high-profile games as he looks to impress England manager Fabio Capello.

He will be recalled anyway in the summer, although that decision had been taken before City were left frustrated by complicated negotiations with Birmingham and the Premier League ruling out any move.

Saturday’s visit of Villa sees the return of former skipper Richard Dunne, who left after nine years last summer accusing City’s chief executive Garry Cook of selling him behind his back.

The Republic of Ireland defender said: ‘If we can pick up a win it will be an interesting last day. I’m looking forward to it.’

Well Brum have certainly fucked up their chances of getting Joe back on loan next season.
Twats.

And maybe Joe's chance at this years WC

Joe Hart being recalled would have been the perfect opportunity for him to not only prove to City fans just what we have missed this season and try to establish himself as No.1 for next season but put himself in the spotlight right before the final selection for the England squad is being decided.

If he has an ounce of sense then I think he would have jumped at the chance to come back for the last few games.

I can only think Birmingham stopped him coming back, i just hope he hasn't missed his chance...

Birmingham have unfortunately hurt themselves for next season, if (granted it is a big "if") Joe is out on loan next season, there is no chance that we will send him to Birmingham again after their alleged conduct in talks. Most Birmingham fans feel they would have been in a fight at the bottom if not for Joe, so without him next season how will they cope. Add to this if Weiss and others are sent out on loan, are we really going to want it to be Birmingham either. Their fans wanted Joe to return to City, in hope that of the slim chance he would be allowed back next season, or at the very least to keep relationships with City good to maybe get some more loaned players to help them out in the future. The same reason Sunderland fans seem happy with Fulop loan.

This is not a rant at Birmingham fans, I quite like them and wish them no ill, just aimed at those running the club. Very short sighted.

Also to help us stop Villa getting 4th..

I think its been confirmed now that it was the Prem that backtracked and stopped it..

A no recall clause when Hart went on loan to brum was at best a mistake - I would call it incompetency !!
It looks like another Cook balls up, even worse than selling Richard Dunne to Villa off his own bat.
Unless, Marwood had any say in these affairs.
Anyway the bottom line is that either one of these mistakes could cost us 4th place.
What exactly is Marwood`s job? Does he advise Cook or Mancini or both of them?
Does anyone listen to him? If so, WHY?

How many times does it need to be posted that any season long loans are not allowed to have a recall clause by the League rules ?

Therefore there was no cock up by City, they weren't allowed to make one in this case.

Yeah... but we still should have had one...
