I spoke to a guy this morning who i went to school with he was banging on about didsbury. he lived in gorton the same as me, but was either being a snob or hiding where he come from.I personally dont think we should hide where we come from, whether it is a good or bad area it is what makes us.

Not sure wether to answer this honestly or not....

But I'm not ashamed of where I am from, I live down south now and I am honestly very proud to be a northerner. From accent (which is admittedly softened slightly apart from when I'm drunk), to just general demeanor, I'm very proud.

There is an aspect of my life that I used to be ashamed of when I was young, but I've grown out of that now. But for a while I just felt very, inconspicuous. It stopped at secondary school pretty much. But I remember just remember feeling very isolated for a while.

Born in Ardwick but grew up in Gorton in the fifties/sixties, when it was all rows of houses like Coronation street. Wonderful memories.

My grandparents are from Ardwick
