No students around at this time so you'll probably have the place pretty much to yourselves, especially during the afternoon.
I walk through Ashton Lane every day, but that said i haven't actually been out there that much, it's pretty expensive.
There's plenty of pubs on Byers Road as well.

I heard Lichtenstein was a cracking trip bar the game and it was all a bit bizarre. Tickets from the post office and the ground was in a ghost town.
