Well if Ancoats hoover sucks properly he could have used the extension pipe to suck up said hornet /wasp/flea

now i had a plan and it was like right am opening the window and you can fly out on your own free will ?? the fucker was now truly taking the piss because he was having non of it. and it was dancing in the window and the noise was crazy and so loud and that was it times up

i took a big breath in and pumped my chest out and went in with my cup and cd sleeve i got it cornered and got the cup in place and bingo i had it game over ?? slid the CD sleeve under the cup and trapped it. winner winner chicken dinner and walked it out of the garden and let it go how daft was that

I'm working in Ancoats and saw loads of them this afternoon on site. Hovering then shooting off at all angles. To be honest I never thought anything about it until seeing your post.

They could be hover flies. .look like wasps but they hover then shoot off. Don't bite or sting and have slightly flatter bodies than wasps
 
I remember seeing a hornet in Norfolk a couple of years ago. They sound like drones.
If you hate wasps you’ll freeze when you see these.
 
Spray it with hairspray next time,just a bit,they can't fly for a few mins so you can put it outside,they clean it off and are fine,dont use it bees though,they will head for the outside if you shoo them in that direction,use on wasps
