Gvardiol and Kovacic are not replacements for Gundogan and Mahrez. It's 2 defensive players for 2 attacking midfielders. It doesn't compare.
Who said they were?
Did you watch the last few games with Kovacic btw?

Because ones a striker at a club who didn't want to sell him and the other is a defender who was at the bottom of the pecking order (whether he shouod or not is another question but for Pep he's behind Akanji and Ake)Mitrovic gone for £43M but Laporte for less than £25M. How’s that happened then?
And Laporte,s £20 million wagesBecause ones a striker at a club who didn't want to sell him and the other is a defender who was at the bottom of the pecking order (whether he shouod or not is another question but for Pep he's behind Akanji and Ake)

Prize wum that one , he is shit stirringStupid thread. Could the OP not have waited a couple of weeks, or is he looking to stir the shit?
Pep doesn't make subs in tight games either regardless of the players on the bench. We haven't signed cover for Rodri however the Kalvin Phillips signing hasn't worked out (we only signed him last Summer)
Last few season he has rarely made changes and we had more of a stronger squad. And there hasn't been a rush to replace (or even strenghten) our out going players either.Bit of a myth, its only the 6th time in his entire City career he hasn't made a single sub in a Premier League game.
Hoe about nowTheir fantastic signings, still doesn't make it a 8 out of 10 window though
I think it would of been, but with Kevs injury issues I think we'll be trying to strengthen in that dept.Kovacic for Gundogan, Doku for Mahrez, Gvardiol for Laporte. Surely that is it now isn't it?
Given the signing of Doku on top of Gvardiol and Kova, I no longer consider it an underwhelming window but rather an average one. This is of course based on the current situation we find ourselves in. Granted, things may happen that unfold later in the window which change peoples perspectives.
I think it’s been a mixed window personally. Losing Mahrez, Gundo and Laporte (soon to join Al Nassr) is far from ideal but undoubtedly Kova and Gvardiol are both outstanding pieces of business.
I do however, find it truly staggering that we have failed to land a central midfielder (ideally someone that can play 6/8) that can cover Rodri, given the fact Pep seems to be out right refusing to offer Phillips any sort of game time. It’s been concerning to see several of our top targets fail to materialise (Bellingham, Rice, Pacqueta) for various reasons, some of which I don’t think Txiki is to blame.
Overall, on the basis that there are no further incomings i am pretty underwhelmed by the window. Surely the chance to capitalise on the worlds best players is after a treble and revenue record breaking season but it seems the club have other ideas. For context, I think Txiki is an outstanding sporting director and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone else but that doesn’t mean he or the club are immune from criticism.
