Certain areas definitely are, but there are huge swathes of beautiful countryside and coastline
I stayed just outside Banbury the other night and the next day drove through the Cotswolds to Malvern and the scenery was fabulous
There are tens of thousands of people who would love to live in the UK, but I understand what you meani meant more standard of living .

I think they were hamsters because they had smaller claws. Drone only realised they didn't have long tails like gerbils so you couldn't pull them out after he'd got two up there. He sent the third in to look for themMe too.

My mums sister and her family (3kids) went for a tenner, only ever came back for holidays and funerals, had a great life there, I was booked to go and visit her about 6years ago as she was poorly, unfortunately she passed away 6weeks before my flight, I cancelled it and got no refund, gutted I never got to visit her there as she'd came over for my wedding.anyone remember it. my parents toyed with it but declined the offer . i was gutted . i often wonder what life would have been like. the UK is a shit tip.

my dad was the same . i don't think he had the tenner . we lived in poverty and even back then I knew going would have changed our lives. My mums sister and her family (3kids) went for a tenner, only ever came back for holidays and funerals, had a great life there, I was booked to go and visit her about 6years ago as she was poorly, unfortunately she passed away 6weeks before my flight, I cancelled it and got no refund, gutted I never got to visit her there as she'd came over for my wedding.
Mum's brother took his family to South Africa, again they stayed and made a good life there.
I think my mum would've done it but my old man was too set in his ways, worked at AVRO Woodford from leaving school to retirement, not a chance of him upping sticks.
