Aston Villa (A) - Post-Match Thread

Mate pro footballers are just that Nige saw the writing on the wall and thought he was better than that, but he’s always had our back and has shown up monkey hands on Bein sports many a time. Given the different rules in each Aussie state I have a feeling the tour won’t finish.

yeah

i heard that maybe behind closed doors could happen in some of the test and bubbles with no families also could be back on the cards

We had a great first half, played some lovely football. Thought Dias shot was great as we seemed to relax a bit after that and really took control. Bernardo's goal was stunning, nothing more to be said about it. What a fantastic season he is having so far, he never fails to give 100% and sours us on all the time. Defensively we were solid and worked well as a unit, especially pleasing as they are a group who don't often get a run out together. Their goal early in the second half knocked the wind out of our sails a little and thought we lost control a little of the midfield and at the same time the forward line offered little. Worked hard for the three points and let's hope we get the rest of our players back soon.

First half good, second half poor. The players who came in fresh did pretty well. Some of those who've been playing a lot are clearly a bit tired.

Ref was shockingly bad.

Lack of options from the bench worrying. Bringing Grealish on for those final 10 mins was the right call - worth the risk of galvanising the opposition for the calmness and time on the ball.

Can't wait for Kev, Kyle, Stones and Gundo to be back, as well as Phil at full fitness.
Agree, Grealish was able to tick down the clock for us.

It was played into an area and resulted in a goal

i think you may need to go back and look at it again ? an area inside the box across the 6 yard line or just outside the 6 yard box yes. but outside the box with a defender picking up the pieces
