Definitely something I noticed - the fluidity reminded me of city teams from 2/3 years agoLooked more mobile than we have in a good while.
Up the fucking Blues.
Dias looked very ponderous when he started with us...looked a liability at first when you think of his first 4 x months - then came into his own and became immense
We were also missing half of oursI don't think Alvarez did anything to suggest that. Villa were missing half their first team players, so that should also be considered while evaluating today's performance.
Ok performance but ....
Of the 3 challengers for the title I think we seem the weakest, the least likely, the most distracted, the least exciting, the least interested, the laziest, .... and yet if we keep getting boring wins we could just do it. In the meantime maybe the cup games will inject some inspiration.
Absolutely a conundrum for Pep. The interplay around and in their box was breath taking tonight with Rodri ,Phil ,Doku ,Alvarez and Lewis all making great little runs and touches. Haaland is nowhere near that level of passing or workrate. We won the ball back so much more as we pressed them.We really do look a more fluid team without Haaland in it. Also Phil plays better in the central role that KDB usually plays. I'm not in anyway writing these 2 great players off, as they are both our best match winners, however it is a conundrum for Pep to get the best out of the team.
Yeah what happened next….It will have been better than the last time I was there when someone ordered champagne for everyone at halftime, when we were up 2-nil against the rags, to be served at full-time…
