McAtee has been great in recent weeks, Scored againt Palace. Doku's been ok for 20 mins out of two games
Not sure how anyone can describe Doku's goal creating effort which prob gets us into the CL as "ok". Absolutely electric burst, leaves the defender in his dust and a very difficult outside of the boot cross. There is a reason our Exp Goals was only 1.09 yesterday despite scoring twice and McAtee's fuck up where it was arguably easier to score

I was in Asda chatting with some Blues, when the team news came through.

We were saying that it was madness leaving Nico G on the bench, but Pep obviously still knows more than the average City supporter.
Yes, and for what he is paid you would like to think so. The lineup scared me but we approached it differently and wasn't slow and laboured. Bernardo playing like that and there's no issues. Him getting game time despite poor performances was the worry. Fingers crossed it is the start of an end of season run

I said he's been ok for 20 mins across two games, one incident in the game doesn't change that.

Just like McAtee missing his chance

Hahahahhaha what a reach!!

We’re at the point we’re congratulating a £53m player for putting his hand up?

Edgie was bulled to fuck by the main stand and booed. Nothing like what’s happened to Nunes - every week people think “why the fuck is Nunes playing?” but he’s had no stick at the games compared to what Edghill got.

Stepping up to take a penalty in a final, after what just happened earlier in that game, was proper leader material and Edghill was class for that. Putting your hand up to ask for the ball is nothing like it.
That winning goal by Mattias Nunez might have helped City secure a Champions League place. Much like the happy memory I have of Rodri against Villa and Inter Milan when he scored. Without the character shown by " Plodri" to " "plod on" and show the character to ignore the detractors City might have been denied the chance to see that or watch him lift the Balon D'Or.

It was a brilliant piece of work by Jérémy. The cross was absolutely fantastic, and Matheus' finish equally so.

What helped him was his initial little miss control of the ball when he received it which made the defender half commit to a challenge, and Doku was off past him.

The red cartel loving media are polishing that turn to a mirror finish.
All in the hope the scum can get some decent cash for him.
Apparently he’s been great for Villa.
He’s scored 2 PL goals for Villa, 2 and one of them was a pen.
6 in 25 PL games this season.
He’s fucking shit!
Firstly, if he was running us ragged, Dick Emery wouldnt have subbed him. Secondly, were any of us sighing with relief when Watkins came on in his place?

Cannot see it mentioned here but that was a real six pointer. By winning, we are 4pts clear of Villa. If they had snatched the win instead, they would have been 2pts ahead of City, hence the six pointer. Brilliant result. No idea whom Pep will select for the semi final but maybe he should keep the same eleven for the final if we meet Villa again.
Thanks for explaining what a 6-pointer is. Always gives me trouble, that one...

:-)

Without that Edghill penalty there’s a good chance we wouldn’t be here as a club mate. Like, completely not here. Dickov missed his, so it was important the others scored and Weaver did his thing.

That goal by Nunes might get us CL, it might not. But we’ll survive either way.

As frustrating as it was ,he wasn’t really wasting time though was he?
Don’t get me wrong he was definitely trying his best to take time out of the game as Villa had come to keep it tight and then go for it in the last 10 minutes,
But if you watch it back it’s one of the defenders that invariably took the dead ball and passed it to Martinez ,who then took and age to kick the ball /pass it out of the area?
But by then the ball was in play so he could take as much time as he likes , shithouse tatic by Martinez /Villa but totally legal !
It needs a rule change ,something like unless he goalie is carrying an injury ,he should be the only person allowed to take the dead ball kick ?

Until then ,teams are always going to abuse it
last night..... ball goes out of play for a goal kick - defenders and keeper wait for ball boy to throw them a ball, which they know its not allowed so a defender walks to the furthest ball away, then throws it to martinez. he waits for defender to walk back then throws ball to him to restart play by passing to martinez, only then is ball back in play. all this time ref is walking to centre circle with his back to them, they only start the goal kick when he turns round and waves play on. 30 secs per goal kick.

Of course, that goal had a completely different magnitude. It was great to see Richard Edghill put faith in his own abilities and take responsibility rather than hiding and leaving it to someone else, same thing with the goal from Mattias Nunez yesterday. I think it's the courage to take responsibility that is admirable.
