Not definite. My understanding is that you cannot restrict a player from transferring within the premier league excepting under age players. You can have restrictions between league's. I know we have a buyback clause and Pep said during the week that he would review it at the end of this season I am assuming that Luiz can sign for any premier league club and is not restricted to playing for Villa for the rest of his premier league career.Are you sure?

I think it has something to do with the fact that Villa could guarantee that he would play in 75% of games if fit whereas we couldn't.It's quite a complex system, I don't know all the details. He's one of their most expensive players, and probably on one of the biggest salaries at the club. That qualifies him for a work permit. At city he would rank at the bottom. Wesley's Brazilian too..
If he gets enough caps for Brazil he'll qualify for a work permit playing for City. I don't know if his current work permit would carry over if City triggered the clause.

That seems improbable, don't you think? Someone posted a list with the rules regarding work permits at the beginning of the season, but I don't remember where, it could have been over at villatalk.comI think it has something to do with the fact that Villa could guarantee that he would play in 75% of games if fit whereas we couldn't.
Not sure where to post this but I have waited a few days to do so.
the atmosphere at this game was very poor. Villa fans out sung us for 90 mins. Not only that there were way too many empty blue seats all around the stadium not just family stand.
I’m not kicking off im just trying to understand it. We have a dream manager & although not firing this season the players deserve so much more for the last few years they have given us.
can anybody explain the lack of singing & seats ? And yes I know many stadiums have this issue but they don’t have pep or the quality of players we have. :-)
