Bloody hell, one min basking in the after glow (Genesis) of a great european win...now instantly panicking about the next league match with a load of injuries. Used to love going to Villa Park..the Tuesday Night ,all in 'White' 5-1 prob the highlight...followed very closely by the 2-1 win under Kendall on the sunday after the poll tax riots, with Villa top of the league and us bottom ..without an away win in the top flight for bloody ages.

Happy memories as a teenager listening to the 81 cup semi final on my transistor radio, the ecstacy of Paul Powers late winner against a very good Ipswich side who were going for the treble...how times change...

Older blues will of course remember being at Villa Park in 1969 when Tommy Booth scored after a late corner to overcome a very good Everton side to reach the cup final v Leicester. The Everton side that day inc Howard Kendall, Alan Ball and Joe Royle...

Villa park, Everton Match, was stood right behind the goal when Booth scored. Coming out of that ground as a 10 year old was scary. Did the 5-1 also, and the Ipswich semi. Also some bad times with West Mids Police, and entry into a very ageing ground. Ha ha you thought it was away, thought you were reminiscent.

I watched them against Spurs and, a bit like Norwich, they are very good in transition.

They can move the ball quickly and with intelligence, so we can't leave the back door open too often.

Defensively, they are suspect against real quality.

Early goal would again help us.

Agreed. That's why I'd have Fernandinho in front of the back 4. I suspect it will be Gundogan though.

Banged it in.

We’re going to have to start thinking about managing the workload of certain players. Fernandinho is 34 years old, if he plays 90 minutes every 3 days it’s going to take its toll on him at some point and that’s not something we can afford to let happen. Is mendy ready to play 3 game a week yet?

Ederson
Cancelo
Stones
Garcia (but it will be otamendi)
Zinchenko
Gundogan
Silva
Kdb
Bernardo
Sterling
Aguero

Thought Zinchenko has done his knee in? Or is it not that bad? When they make an announcement on the OS you fear the worst.
