No Premier League game should ever be called off because of rain. We've known about this storm for days - surely the pitch can be covered for the majority of the day, they'll have pumps and the drainage is state of the art. We're already struggling with the number of games we'll have to play between now and the end of May - this game has to go ahead.

Yes but there is rain and biblical rain like were seeing.

I am probably repeating other posts but I remember two games being off at the Etihad: a CL game which was because of lightning and a Premier League game (Sunderland) but that was the wind. All the wheely bins and program stands were blowing around the forecourt.

In summary I don't think rain alone should be a problem.
The roof panels were being ripped off the velodrome.. got there early and I was sat in their car park.. annoying as the wind died off just after they’d cancelled it

I was at home with the family having tea and the glass surface on our patio table was lifted and shattered against the wall. I had a big barney with the Mrs who kept telling me not to go because it wasn't safe. We still hadn't resolved it when on the news came footage of a programme booth skating across the forecourt and news that the game was off. My wife was pretty smug about it and I looked a bit of a dick.

I hate it when they’re right

Correct.
Given a lack of supporters there is no way tonight should be called off.

Remember it well. Literally just parked up and walking past the Asda when I got the news. Fuming.
Glad

Gladbach fans where already in the stadium when the game was called off. I was on level 3 and had watched them wade through waist deep water to reach the entrance, the water was coming through the south stand roof like a waterfall.

Yes blame Donald Trump and the idiots who refuse to walk anywhere

The fact we can rotate with top players negates any physical rest Villa have had.

It is our title edge this season.

We could have Rodri, Mahrez, Foden, Torres, Cancelo all come back in.

Regardless of reservations over any of them, they are still better than what our rivals can produce, never mind a troublesome Villa.
