John Stones didn’t gift them an equaliser we were 2-0 up when he tripped over.

Besides we were good for the win, should of been 4-2 if we had taken our chances.
Slapped them 3 out of 3,they've had a few decent results but they've also shown they can lose to anyone,we play like we have been playing & there's only 1 result...

Pretty much everyone of note available:
Training doesn't necessarily mean match fit. Dean Smith has indicated it won't be full strength but we shall see:_

" Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith would not name which nine players had tested positive for Covid-19 during a recent outbreak, but said his team selection would be affected."

Non-stop rain all day today.

That should play into our hands? We should be able to move the ball quicker, meaning Villa who are not match fit, but rested, will have to chase the ball even more in the driving rain. Hopefully that will tire them out even quicker?

I share this concern as our passing speed and accuracy will be hampered by a sodden surface. Can any of you Blues get feedback from a member of the ground staff?

Under soil drainage, under soil heating, with a slight slope at the sides of the pitch.

The pitch will be fine.

If push comes to shove City will have no option but to get the sponges and buckets out.

This narrative about John Stones and his mistakes really pisses me off. Has a player ever had the scrutiny that John has had in his City career. Every player makes errors, I can remember Vinny making quite a few in the 2014 season, the one when he sliced his clearance against Liverpool at Clanfield comes to mind and the own goal against Fulham was a proper howler, but he was never hung out to dry by us because he was a great player. I can count on one hand how many bad mistakes John has made at City and that isn’t bad in the four or five seasons he has been with us. The slip against Villa wasn’t an error although the pundits like Gary Neville couldn’t wait to call him out, probably because of his howler for England and the fact that he plays for City. At the moment he is showing us that he is a fantastic central defender unfortunately Stones is only one poor pass or mistake away from being vilified by the pundits again. They can’t wait for that to happen.

Gone for a home win, but i'm also putting money on the game being abandoned. Wet weather will level things about a bit though. It'll help Villa and hinder us , so its a tricky one for me

I didn't realise United were playing 2 hours after us and will leapfrog us with a win, I quite like the idea of being top for more than a couple of hours so hopefully Fulham get back to their drawing ways.

If covid after effects kick in they might find it tiring after 60 minutes on a heavier pitch in bad weather

They’d have played a game more than us as well by then so false positioning ... nothing to worry about there anyway, wait till their Thursday nights kick in they won’t know what to do yet again and will quickly fall out of top 4 and back where they belong - somewhere mid table!

Looks like there might be a fair chance the game will be postponed. Hope not.

Mind you I’m quite wary of this lot. I don’t want them sneaking up on us and catching us off guard.

Only be postponed if the pitch is water logged and that won’t happen with our drainage system.

Our pitch all that great is a bit of a myth ... just depends on how much rain comes down and how quickly ...

this is why i worry about england call up,yes John will want to play for england but they cant play possession football so one mistake it'll all be Johns fault again and it starts again

Ah right! well it said it was going to have a months worth of rain in 48 hours so even our drainage mustn’t be able to cope.
