Aston Villa on Saturday - Pre Match thread.....

Liverpool played Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday but looked sharper and hungrier. It's an combination of poor tactics and lack of desire. If they wanted it then they'd try harder

This is where I lose it with folk going on about players looking tired. They're no more tired than the majority of other pros who've played a similar number of games. Yer right, that when it comes down to it, determination and desire are not abundant.

You can't argue with that. But out of interest, how many players have Pool used over those 3 games, compared to how many we have used?

Agree with bringing back the Mangler as Ota not cutting the mustard.

Also think we should give Merlin a rest and give Nacho a shot.

My worry is if Yaya hasn't recovered how on earth we are going to control the ball.

Actually, just checked and there's not much in it really, of the starting XIs in each of our last three matches, we used 14 players, they used 16.

My worry is our team talks have as much depth as a blow up Kiddi paddling pool and the mantra is to "go out there and do your best"
Most of the time we go out on that turf we look to lack direction, vision and lack organisation, especially at the back. I mean it's been over two years but anything they learned from Mancini or their previous clubs has been all but squeezed out of them

It's like they attended the Paul Ince seminar on football tactics and pellegrini was in the front row. Thankfully (hopefully) pep is coming and bringing in his unique football brain with him, tactics are a science to him and he's always trying to be one step ahead of the opposition. Shame he can't come sooner but better late than never I guess

He needs to give the whole squad 2 days off....no training, no Media work, nothing. Get them together Friday evening. They're probably sick of doing those cone drills and standing in a circle with a player in the middle trying to get the ball anyway. If there's no intensity, then forget going through the motions at the CFA.

I laughed but probably only because its true
What the **** does this mug have them doing besides piggy in the middle and jogging round a few cones chewing their fuc*ing pathetic snoods they wear round their neck
Watch those Guardiola videos of him coaching real sessions and genuinely drilling in a style and system of play, real match situations etc
I swear MP gives them the easy road, Ive never seen the guy with his hands out of his pockets at training on a friday especially.. hes stood there wondering who we are playing the next day
He's not made one single player better since hes arrived and how can he when the CFA looks dead. No atmosphere or intensity in that place despite the millions spent

Wish some of our players would look at that diagram tbh
