Very good team under O'Neill, Gregory and Big Ron but now that's many years ago. Losing the likes of Laursen, Barry and Milner in quick succession was just the beginning. Still not sure why they brought Remi Garde in because he's even worse than Tim Sherwood. I'm not sure what their debt situation is like but with that team you just can't see them coming back up

A quick play with a calculator suggests they need more points per game than Leicester have averaged to stand any chance of survival.
Their penultimate game is home against Newcastle; there could be a lot of pissed off fans in that ground at the final whistle.
Ha ha. Here's hoping, quality scenario.

With the massive drop in money they'll be getting, bang goes the luxury hotels to stay at.

They'll be saying to hoteliers "Here's 3 nails - can you put me up for the night?"
Maybe Doggymore Collymore can have alternative arrangements set up at a caravan park and duds down for a J Arthur. Aaarrff!

Manchester City - ruining Aston Villa since 2010

The problem for the was not selling two years ago, keep Lambert, spend some cash and go again. Villa are an attravtive proposition. Big stadium, biggest team in the second City, great transport links and a big following. Lerner held that season too long in the hope of maximum sale price given the new TV money. Now he is fucked. Wolves or Villa, Wolves all day long at a cheaper price and with fans who expect less. Get them up and cream the profit from the top, cheap wages to take on too in comparison to Villa and the parasites that will bleed them dry next year

They got some good money selling their players back then. Lerner was probably pocketing some nice bonuses in his salary at the end of it all. He played with fire selling benteke too. He thought they could just get their tv rights every season and be safe with mid table. He has really ballsed the club up

If Benteke had stayed Delph probably would have too and they might have had enough to stay up. It has worked out pretty poorly for both Villa and the players (player-wise assuming that Delph would have had a more injury free season and Benteke more starts).
Whatever they do now they really need to make a good appointment and try to come back quickly. If I was in charge there I would be on the phone to Nigel Pearson offering him the mother of all bonuses for promotion within two years.
