Bit of a mess over at Aston Villa. Their new(ish) manager, Robert de Pauw, has been sacked. Not because results have been bad but because of how he's been treating their players. The Guardian reporting as follows:

We understand Robert de Pauw’s departure from Aston Villa came amid concerns regarding the way he had allegedly spoken to his players, including about their appearance.

Guess some people just haven't got the memo that it's not okay to treat players in that way. In the short term it means that Shaun Goater will take charge of the team until a new manager can be found. Good luck to the Goat.

Guy sounds like and idiot he should have been sacked for the results anyway. 6 points from 9 games is a shocking return given the squad he has.

Results certainly won't be helped if that's the way he's been treating them though. But yeah, spent a bit of money in the summer so should've been doing better after a decent year in the previous campaign.

The Goat is still there. W9-0 at the weekend v Bristol Rovers.

I just saw a report on their game, and it said Goater was their manager. I absolutely missed this. I thought he was still a coach at City.
IT didn't seem that long ago I thought I saw him hugging Bunny lol

I can't believe he left in August 24 :(
