Video technology to be introduced into football by 2017.

To be introduced into the Premier league for the 2017-2018 onwards.

Penalties , red cards , off sides and contentious decisions all under review by the video official.

The ref has the option to view key decisions as well.

Source BBC World Service.

Not before time, with the stakes in football being so high it's not right to have to rely on the officials to have a good day

Testing it at first. At least it's a start. I guess that means the topics for discussing/arguing about in the pub will be down to politics, the weather, religion, the cost of living, women (or men) and, of course, muffin or barm.

Now that Septic and Michelle are out of the way perhaps we can see some much needed progress rather than the Status Quo Old Boys' gravy train.

My only concern is that at times already this season supposed ex-refs have when seen certain decisions have agreed with the ref at the game they apply laws differently to each other so we will still end up with fuck ups...

Better late than never , it should have been introduce with the start of the premier league.

Football has lost a lot of credibility by dawdling on the decision for way too long now.

Welcome to the 20th century football (LOL).

Once in vogue all the doubters will wonder why they held that view.

Where are we when we need you Cblue.

Hopefully it will pan out like Rugby where the video evidence will decide the outcome not the refs opinion.

Got to assume that the ref will not be the one to decide whether video evidence is necessary or not otherwise some idiot referees will refuse to look at it and insist their decision does not require a TV replay.
