David Silva has a muscular problem that will probably keep him out of Atalanta and Liverpool games according to Pep.

Foden in for Liverpool, but before that Doyle get's another game in Atalanta.
 
So we have 6 first team players out of this game: Zinchenko, Laporte, Rodri, Silva, Sane and Foden is suspended.

Which leaves 17 players to choose from: Ederson, Bravo, Cancelo, Walker, Stones, Garcia, Otamendi, Mendy, Angelino, Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Sterling, Jesus and Aguero.

I wonder who makes up the last place on the bench. Doyle, Poveda or Bernabe?

Such a shame Foden can't play in this one.
 
I think the selection is determined by the Liverpool game. I am a bit worried by Mendy at the moment so I'd play Mendy in this game, and Angelino at Anfield even though Mendy's height would be useful against Liverpool set pieces.

I'd bring Fernandinho into midfield given loss of Foden and Silva

URGENT: Can anyone send me the LINK to the Atalanta Away Fan registration page that went out on an email at the end of last week - I've seen it on someone elses phone but it hasn't arrived in my email - I know the link is not supporter specific as we tried it on Friday night and the form asks for Support Number etc etc

EDIT: Panic over - got the link - what a cr*p form it was too - date fields are a right mare!

Pep has already stated that we will go strong against them so i'm going for.

I know Pep has said he won't, but we really should be putting out a rotated side for this. We're in the middle of an injury crisis, have potentially the biggest game of the season at the weekend, and we'd still stand an excellent chance to top the group even with a loss. Trust the squad and send the Carabao Cup team out. If we look leggy on Sunday and lose not a single person is going to take solace in having wrapped the group up early.

Said it before, but at this point of the season 4 days before and after Atalanta is enough for the players.
Sunday will be declared as match of the season and the players will give more than usual,
with an international break of mainly unimportant matches next.

Winning at Atalanta will be our best preparation for Sunday and for the winner's mentality as a team.
Early goals, good match management and early subs for key players may save enough power for Sunday.

The thing is, I agree with all of that, the numbers are just rough. David Silva not being available, especially if Bernardo also gets suspended, is a killer. At the very least I'd play Otamendi for this one so we don't have to see him anywhere near Anfield.
