Went to Madrid on stag do about 3 years ago. Visited the palace and I was wearing the sky blue, my Rag mate had on his piece of shit, Spanish Palace guard spat on floor in front of Rag and hugged me saying " city city ove you but hate them, they are like Real". He told me loads of Atletico fans love us as we are a peoples club. Anyone ever heard of fan links with Atletico? Irony was the guard said he bought all our merchandise, hats, scarfes, mugs etc

Haha great stuff! remember watching the Madrid derby, the first one for 2 years after Atletico had been relegated then promoted again! at El Claderon the Atletico fans had a banner of a bull/demon/evil type figure that was the size of the whole stand; flares; smoke bombs; all jumping and chanting! the commentator said that Atletico fans regard themselves the Man City of Spain or Man City the Atletico of England! wouldn't mind a bit of their matchday shit at the CoMS!

Hey maybe Torres is aware of a link between the clubs and comes out and says - when Liverpools owners are forced to sell him in the summer - "the only club I can go to in the world is Manchester City as they are close to my club!"

he gets himself fit and he and Carlos become the most dangerous strike force in the world!!

If I remember right through the san miguel haze it was 12 euros on the turnstlye. Torres scored hat trick so might be longer than 3 years against Celta Vigo. They had that lanky ex villa forward Milosevic. Torres ripped them apart. Hopefully we get them in pre season tournament...nice away day

jesus, this is scary. i've looked for atletico's result since i was about 9. i used to play as them on a 10p arcade game years ago because as a kid i thought them and paraguay had the best kits in the world (when they play with blue shorts and white socks). then went to watch them put the scum out of the ecwc in 1991/92. bernd schuster and paolo futre played and i bought a badge of them on the way out. i was 12 but it didn't stop the red vendor giving me shit. our kid is a red and has soft spots for celtic, juventus and barcelona. i'm blue, rangers, ac milan and atletico. nothing serious as there is only 1 club for me but we just wind each other up about the europeans. let's build this link with 'los colchineros' (the matress makers). it could be a love in when i fulfil a life ambition of watching city at vicente calderon.

Same here matey, i started being them due to the similarities to City and found that they are a shit hot team on Pro Evo, Augero (Spell Mistake?) and Forlan are immense up front together, Simao and Rodriguez on the wings are class.

Always smoke my mate with them no matter who he is.

Yep basically as an Atletico fan (colchonero) for 15 years plus I can vouch for this AND we have a similar history of suffering , in fact Atletico are known in Spain as the "sufridores" - sufferers! I was at the derby match when Raul made his derby debut and scored twice (after being an Atletico fan and youth player) needless to say I´ve hated the coont ever since
