Yeah transport is one for people leaving early maybe Palace have more locals as well?

I believe all genuine supporters are fanatical about their clubs but there has to be reasons why Selhurst always seems noisier. Is it the stadium, the demographics of the supporters themselves or have the club and supporters organised the vocal support better.
It's manufactured noise, the ultra bollocks with the most boring songs in the league. I agree they make a noise but I can't stand watching their home games because if that shite. We have the noisiest ground for the bigger games, I think that's just how it is and it's the same at anfield or the Emirates.

Agree with you. Awful coordinated annoying chants. It reminds me of the German games.

Its never gonna be bouncing v fulham
It's never going to be bouncing when we spend the first half passing to opposing players and doing pretty much zero of note before the first goal. Allowing them to equalise about a minute after taking the lead killed the atmosphere until our second, and that was muted due to another VAR check.
Things improved after the break but but once again we reverted to passing the ball backwards and sideways when forward pass looked on. This might lead to everybody being in position and it might lead to a 45 pass goal, but it's hardly exciting.
"Come on City", "Stand up for the champions", We're not really here" and "Best team in the land and all the world" goes around the stadium. The shite about the rags stays in the south stand unless we're playing them or they're losing while we're winning. - A bit like that "Allez, allez, allez" dipper shite a few years ago.
We are currently the best team in the land and all the world. Let's not sing about the bloody rags.

Watched a few Serie A games yesterday. Great noise, support and atmosphere throughout each game The Lazio fans at Napoli where brilliant. Non stop singing for 90 minutes. Those of you who have been to Napoli :-) will know how hard it is to be heard over the Napoli Ultra singing ends behind each goal. Not to mention the size and shape of the stadium. And where the away end is located inside the stadium. Torino and Genoa (Genoa filled their away end with flags and flag wavers throughout the match) was another great atmosphere even though it remind 0-0 until the last minute when Torino scored. Inter v Fiorentina was also good, but the atmosphere was contrived with the Capo using (the stadium) speakers to get the Ultras on the Curva and the fans inside the stadium singing. Not to mention the cheesy mobile phone light show during one of the chants.

A good mate of mine is a Palace fan and I've been with him to a few games over the years. Largely when they were in the championship. Back then the atmosphere was shite and they didn't have many turn up. Getting to/from Palace is carnage as anyone knows who has been there. The majority of their fans will need to get trains out of there, they probably just hit up a pub for a bit first.

Their atmosphere was transformed when they set up their ultras who all got seats together in the Holmesdale. It's an old ground with excellent acoustics as a result so it doesn't take many to make it seem loud. But most people will only see Palace when they're playing a big team at home and the atmosphere is naturally better. When they play Fulham it will also be a lot more flat.

When the north stand is done, if it's marketed correctly the atmosphere will go up a notch. It is already incredible for the big games. Far better than it gets credit for. And with more in there and in a home end it will go up a level.

We had the singing section in level three. Everyone in there gave it 100% for 90 minutes so credit to those who got involved!

I felt like we’d made a difference.

It’s definitely better in level 1 for constant singing. But level 3 is louder with the acoustics. If you put everyone in 115 in the upper tier it would be amazing.

Don't know how often you go up to level 3 but that wasn't the game to judge it off. One of the worst atmospheres it's been in the last 12 months in my eyes.

Sometimes or always, you need jeopardy with the result to get the crowd going with a game like yesterday. If it had been 2-2 going into the last 15 minutes the crowd would have responded and found its voice.

If there's anybody left. Haha. To be fair the early leaver syndrome hasn't been as bad thus far.

Genuine question - how has Arsenal’s atmosphere changed so dramatically? I know they’ve been performing better but literally since the start of last season it seemed to have transformed? I hear a lot about them changing things to improve it but like what?

Their atmosphere was part of what cost them the league last season imo. They all get too emotional. But for a marginal offside at the weekend against United we'd have been talking about them going overboard and mucking it up again.

better organization around chanting and building atmosphere. Seems to be a younger element taking charge of it.

possibly…although they also had a hell of a lot of comebacks which did seem fuelled by the atmosphere as well. Just seems like such a change, whether good or bad for them I would have put Emirates as one of the worst until last season.

My theory with Arsenal is that they're so ashamed at the state of that Ashburton lot who bang their drum all game, that they purposely try and out sing them.

Most of the noise at Arsenal comes from the opposite end to the 'ultras'.

City v Fulham.

Newcastle V Bournemouth.

The atmosphere is really flat. You can hear a pin drop at times. Hardly any chanting. Just moans, grumblings, frustration, etc. 0-0 at half-time.

Games like Fulham, Bournemouth etc don't only effect the atmosphere at the Etihad. They effect the atmosphere at every PL ground, even ground with supposed good atmospheres.
