Away ends and tourists

What a great bunch of city fans we are. Maybe away games shouldn't be down to points it should be down to if you have an M postcode and can get pissed up dance around like a d*ck set flares off. That's how you get a ticket

I don't often pick a fight with fellow Blues on BM.

But would you rather have our away support diluted and made up of tourists, day trippers, football fans who support Liverpool on the QT, turn up wearing scarfs of other football clubs, wearing half and half scarfs, and who don't support the team because they don't know the chants, etc, then fair enough. Yes, we've got away dicks like most clubs. I was probably one myself when I was younger, but I've always supported my club, in time, money, and vocal support. Would I go in an away end of another club because I was either given a ticket, or because I could buy one at an inflated price, no I wouldn't. But if you think allowing fans of other clubs, especially fans who support the home team into our end is OK, because it somehow attracts new City fans, then fair enough. Personally I would rather have 3000 genuine City fans, which includes a percentage of dicks, due to their age, alcohol consumption, etc. Like me and many others, they will eventually grow out of that phase of their City life's.

But there are tickets available for other clubs too, I think you're reading too much into it ;-)

I had a look at them, i typed in 4 tickets £278 so i thought roughly £70 per ticket, went to checkout and it came to over a grand! silly me, think i'll give it a miss, unless my numbers come up!

Oh yes there was. Just found it interesting that 30 tickets are reportedly on sale on two websites out of an allocation of 600 and I think the club have not issued any tickets yet.

Its not that interesting because in all honesty we know the club sells tickets to agencies.

Difficult one this. I was back in Dec 2014 and the club could not (would not) help me with tickets for an away game. I wanted my 10 yr old to experience a Boxing Day in the Away end. Ended up paying ~300quid for two tickets for WBA through a mob in Hong Kong to guarantee tickets. I have a broad Aussie accent and don't know all the songs so a lot would call me a tourist I guess. We emigrated from the NW in 1981 when I was a kid and I have supported City all my life. Was a season ticket holder from London in 03/04 season where my Son went to games in Utero. You guys are fortunate in that you have a postcode in Manchester and get to accrue the necessary points. Whilst the club is not what it used to be (I remember in the 80's a lady called Margaret Naden (sp) was always so helpful arranging for tickets, tour of Maine Rd etc for me and my Dad (don't think there were many foreign fans then) they do still try to protect the Aways for "loyal" fans as they refused to listen to my pleas for help. Had there not been the mechanism to purchase tickets for JCLs internationally then I (and more importantly my Son) would not have experienced that occassion on Boxing Day 2014 (it snowed the entire second half too!). That one game really "made" my Son a City fan. We went to the home games against Burnley, the launch of the new EDS (Schalke or Hamburg can't remember) and then Arsenal match using our Cityzen cards. The game my Son still talks about and brought up just this week was the one at the Hawthorns. I guess there will be some hit and misses with some "fans" purely going for the tourist attraction....but there will be others, like me (and my Son) that have done whatever they can and arrange entire itineries around getting to a match.

Yes same here. As much as I would love to go will have to miss out based on those prices. Living a mile from the ground I may hang around the 'city' pubs and see if anyone has not travelled.

Keep your eye on the travel and ticket section on here nearer the time also as you always get the odd one popping up at face value mate.

I was there early on Saturday and the stewards were talking about a few LIVERPOOL fans in our end. They were all tourists but had got them from package deals. He said it happens EVERY WEEK, all clubs do it unfortunately. One woman City fan said they should be thrown out and the steward said they have every right to be there due to have a legally bought ticket.
