Away fans / tourists in home sections

I've seen more and more that the club don't give a fuck about our loyal support ever since the introduction of selling loyalty points with season tickets. That was so wrong on the club's part and morally wrong of everyone who paid extra to gain (not earn) loyalty points.

Against Celtic in the group stage, I attempted to buy tickets with my long term membership. The lad on the phone said there was a fault and I'd have to open a new membership account which I did and bought the tickets. When I got to the turnstiles, my tickets were refused so I went to the ticket office to be told that my tickets had been cancelled due to having no ticket purchase history. I was told, and I quote, that I was "a security risk".

Luckily, my Dad wasn't at the game and I was able to move to another window and buy tickets on his account. I made my way through groups of Celtic fans who were abusive to City fans and openly singing IRA songs and got in the ground about 10 minutes after kick off. When Celtic scored, pockets of the scruffs were jumping up and celebrating all around us.

Against Young Boys, we all saw the firework display. It was ridiculous that a group of supporters were able to get that amount of pyros into the stadium. My daughter was almost hit by a coin thrown from the away end. A boy of around 9/10 was hit in the ribs by a coin. An elderly gent was taken out with blood pouring from a cut on his head where a coin had hit him. He was the only person I saw escorted out of the stadium.

Against Copenhagen, me and my lad were stood near the away fans. They were holding their phones up with pictures of oil cans on them, throwing coins and spitting over the segregation. Me and the lad responded by holding up our phones with pictures of Brondby's badge on. A police officer immediately came to tell us that if we did anything else to incite the away fans, we'd be thrown out and banned. My lad tried to reason and asked if Copenhagen fans were allowed to throw objects, spit at us and do the same thing that we were doing. The copper replied "They don't want to watch the next match here but you do."

Last night, we were about 6 seats away from where the trouble started in block 111. A Feyenoord fan outed himself when they scored their first. A young City fan confronted him (OTT in my opinion) and wouldn't let it go until the Dutch bloke moved. I might be wrong but it looked like an older City fan went over to try and resolve the situation and it seemed like he would be allowed to climb over into the away end. As he stood on a seat, he appeared to slip and the young blue and a few others threw a couple of digs at him. That sparked the away end into action and they stormed the police line almost breaking through it a number of times.

By now, coins, lighters, vapes, lagers, seats and other objects were being thrown into 111 constantly. I saw a Feyenoord fan stood on his seat showing a City fan two miniature bottles and telling them he was going to throw them into 111. He stayed on his seat whilst he necked one of the bottles - a whisky miniature. One of his cronies spent part of the first half stood on his seat openly drinking lager and smoking a large joint. My eldest lad was hit by two vapes and my younger lad hit by a pound coin. We just about dodged 3 fifty pence coins so could barely look away from them for our own safety.

I went down to a steward and a police officer about the glass bottles and pointed out the fan who had them. The police officer radioed someone but fuck all was done.

The safety of City fans is being compromised almost on a weekly basis and until someone is seriously hurt, not a finger will be lifted to change it.

The club don't give a single fuck. They will continue to charge us as much as they think is possible to wring out of us. The ticket office will continue to be a clusterfuck. Season tickets will be phased out in a constant quest to find "supporters" who are likely to spend more. Fanzone fucking Danny will continue to patronise fellow blues because "I'm alright Jack", away tickets will continue to be sold to people who have never attended a City match.

I'd dearly love to see our fans boycott a cup match and put fuck all into the coffers. Let those in charge see what they are doing. Piss poor gate receipts and really empty stands. I'd love to see this done nationwide but it won't happen because unlike German football fans, we are a nation who bends over and spreads their collective arse cheeks.
I stayed on Gold out of principle and now have dropped right down the pecking order. I know lads that don't ever go but have got three times as many points as me for the one or two games per season they want to attend. I go to every home game although I wish I could fuck the CL off but its a srug watching this club. I'm 59 and the family have 4 season tickets for almost 30 yrs, having had mine personally since 1977.

100% agree with everything you've wrote. Fuck that Erling Haaland three times over the tannoy shit off everytime he scores as well.

Yesterday, not even that. If I am correct, his name was announced only once. :-(

Someone has already been seriously hurt.

We played Liverpool in 2022 in the Carabao Cup and a teenage girl was left needing stitches after a pint cup filled with coins was thrown from the Liverpool end above.

City learnt from this and never put away fans above home fans again, not really they don't give a fuck

There were stacks in CB level 2 with half and half scarves leaning over singing 'always look on the bright side of life".

Partly due to being an foc and partly because I find the Dutch accent quite comical I didn't really take much offence but if that was one of our "friends" from the PL may well have been very different.

When we played Schalke away in 2008 there were a lot of visible City fans the home sections either side of the away corner, and they were not treated badly.
Unlike 2019 where fans were leaving by the same exits and a City fan was nearly killed by a Schalke hoodlum (he was punched and cracked his head on the concrete floor).

The Dutch sound funny because they have childhood soft palate trauma' I like the Dutch but get the idea that in their own language they sound scouse.

That was the same setup but in 2019 most were able to get tickets in the away section, in 2008 it was a massive novelty. That was nothing to do with City fans in the home end, in 2008 the trams were attacked, but very civil when watching the game.

Wouldn't it be better if everybody could just grow up and tolerate people supporting another club? I go to many games in Germany and see away fans in home ends all the time without there being a problem.
No, because them being in our stands paying ridiculous amounts of money for tickets is what is driving prices up and driving proper City fans away because it’s pricing them out.

The away stand hasn’t been full for any CL game this season yet their fans are in our seats? Shove the cunts in the away stand for fuck’s sake. That’s what the away stand is for.

Plus City’s own Ts&Cs state that away fans shouldn’t be in the home sections. I’ve read them to the club in a phone call made to me from the club about this issue.

Am not defending the club.
But block 210 last night had over 50 away fans in it who all jumped up celebrating there goals. The stewards supervisor said the tickets were issued to Fifa sponsors in the main Heineken. Police told them that 4500 fans travelled from Holland. City sold them under 3000 in their own end. Stewards started ejection them individually after 85 minutes and that was due to City fans telling them to do their job. CTID

Are you going to contact the club regarding this?
MCFC's supporter charter states:
"We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone in our care or attending our activities feels safe and free from harm.
The Club takes safeguarding very seriously and is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for
everyone."
Maybe if enough people contacted the club/supporter reps it would be highlighted?
I don't know how MCFC can think this is acceptable?
When I contacted the club about this exact issue after the Celtic game, their answer was to move me out of my seat on CL nights away from sections where away fans are in the home stands.

That didn’t resolve the issue one bit for our support as a whole, it just removed me from the area so I’d probably stop complaining to the club.

Why don’t our club put the fucking netting we have to suffer at away days in Europe I felt like a fish in the North Sea watching Barca a few years ago.
Needed! Dynamo Zagreb fans were pissing in empty bottles and throwing them into 110-111 when they came a few years ago.

Line of Police outside the ground afterward were confronted by fans asking why their fans weren’t ejected for it and also throwing seats, coins, lighters and vapes… to which one cooper did this at the lads asking them:

Away fans shouldn't be given tickets in the home ends as UEFA insist on all clubs doing when the away end doesn't sell out. Why is it when we go abroad and we so much as fart at the wrong time, the riot police are all over us. Yet at the Etihad away fans constantly are allowed to do as they please regardless of the stadium rules. UEFA will issue them with a paltry fine and it's all forgotten. The club should go to UEFA everytime teams comes to us and say they will not be allowed back at the Etihad until as such time they can actually watch a game without throwing objects, drinking alcohol, bringing in flares etc. GMP do your job as you can't expect so spotty student to throw fans out and conduct better searches and if it means fans have to arrive three hours before for proper searches then so be it. And netting should be hung don across all three tiers to stop objects being chucked. We have to suffer it, why should European clubs when they travel to us.

You’re an example of it’s easier to remove (a complaining) City fan, than it is easier not to remove European away fans/Ultras.

City (and GMP) knew there were going to be loads of Feyenoord fans all over the ground. The Feyenoord and the Dutch Police would have discussed it with City and GMP in advance.

City will never comment, but if they did, they would say they couldn’t do anything about Feyenoord fans getting tickets in the home end.

TBH, I don’t think City are arsed. They’ve let it happen before with Celtic, Real Madrid(which was shameful from City) etc. City will bank the away fans ticket money in the home ends and move on.

I’m fully aware of that. I was at the game. As you’ve said though, the cup was thrown from the Liverpool end. The discussion is away fans in home ends and how two sets of supporters are treated differently.

Some netting last night would have stopped the missile exchange with 115 and the away fans, including the seat that took off from the away fans in SSL but thankfully didn't hit any Blues when it landed in 115.

It was pretty close to properly kicking off last night, not helped by our capitulation on the pitch....
