I sincerely hope that Kaka insists that whenever possible away from home we wear the black and red stripe away kit, and that we should have this away kit every year. That this kit was inspired by AC Milan, and Kaka has such affection for his former club, makes it seem so right that he should come to City.

By PL rule you can only wear your away strip 8 times a season.

I won't mind if his first photograph is with him holding the away shirt with his name on it. It will show a seamless transition to being a City player.

I'm sure it will become the highest selling shirt/number combo we have had.

Thats not right - you have to wear an away kit 8 times in a season to be allowed to sell it as a replicar shirt!! We will have worn one of our away kits more than 8 times come May.

Your wrong because, think about it, you only play 19 games with 2 away kits(2nd and 3rd)your not telling me, we wear them 16 times leaving only 3 times you wear your home shirt away from home?

Im sure the 3rd kit is branded as a 'UEFA' kit; so its chances to be worn will be split between the league and UEFA?

Its a PL rule nothing else comes into it and even if it did look at last year when we where not in Europe we played 4 away cup ties and only wore a change strip once(3rd kit as it happens).

but we wear our away kit at home too

Fair enough that the black and red kit was inspired by AC Milan, but if (when) Kaka signs, he is a City player not a Milan player...so he will have to love wearing blue, and, yeah maybe red and black if they are still the away kit colours.

And regarding the 'wearing it 8 times' rule...I can't be arsed looking to see if that's true, but if the guy that posted it can prove it, then I will believe you, until then, I think it's a load of bollocks. Find 8 games that Hull have clashed with anyone and had to wear their away kit.

They wore charcoal at Newcastle... that's it.

And the reason we wear the orange in Europe and not the red and black is that our away kit does not meet the strict UEFA standards. For legibility, the back must not have stripes where the names and numbers are. So we would have to make the whole back of the shirt black.

I have only ever seen us wear our away kit at home twice in 30 years(oddly both times against Spurs)?

Fair enough, that is quite interesting, I never knew that.

Boro the day Foulup missed the penalty that would have seen us into Europe.

I'm sorry I should have said I, my mistake, I was in the US at that time so didn't see the team at all that year.
