Away tickets

Do we know why the SC allocation was increased to 20% as this more than anything has reduced the available tickets for those on loyalty points; it certainly wasn't highlighted by the club and diminished the value of paying for Platinum. Guessing the Corporate allocation has increased too!!

Uncle Kev, aided and abetted by the other SC members on the City Matters forum who won't challenge it

You’re asking the wrong person as I’ve never really taken much interest in SC tickets until relatively recently but my guess would be that it was pre-takeover when away games weren’t as in demand as they are now. Prices were a lot higher, the football wasn’t as good as it is and we certainly didn’t have loads of hospitality seasoncard holders. So it was probably easier to shift them through supporters’ clubs. Just a guess though.

Apologies, I thought someone had said it was about 6 years ago, which was after the introduction of Platinum. If indeed it was pre-takeover then given our success and the high demand for tickets surely now it would be more appropriate to reduce their allocation and allow tickets to be sold based on an individual's purchase history?

Like I said, I’m only guessing. The more I think about it though, the more I think that maybe the club somehow feels more confident about the distribution of SC tickets than those sold via the points system. That might explain why they seem to have some big hang-ups about the points system.

Edit: That doesn’t mean to say I think they’re right to be more confident about that before everyone jumps down my throat!

Well if that is the case (that the club are more confident re SC tickets) then why not tighten up on the tickets sold via the points system allocation? Their lack of confidence in their own system shouldn't be a reason for tickets not going to fans that have attended the most matches.

Which is precisely what they’re trying to do.
