Ba

Great buy for Chelsea. Will score a shedfull.
For 7m the risk on the knee is minuscule.

Including wages and agent fees, it will actually be around 35 million punds.
Not sure he is worth that.

Apparently Roman sees it as a challenge with Torres and is determined to make it work our rather than be Schevchenko mk2.
Can people stop saying that please? Schevchenko was excellent for us compared to Torres. He always gave his best and scored some very important goals (especially in the cups) during his time here. Torres will always have his goal against Barcelona but otherwise he's been a tragedy.

I don't think Ba decreases our chances of signing Falcao. We still need to replace Drogba or we will never be a "world class" team again. Torres was intended to be that replacement and it clearly didn't pan out. Ba obviously isn't the final solution to this problem given his knee condition. He's a stop gap and much needed reinforcements for the here and now.

I rated Schev, he simply was undermined by Jose like Keane was by Rafa.

I meant value for money and making the transfer come off. As you know Benitez came in to get best from Torres and that was the mark of Roman wanting to 'succeed' in that respect.

Had Ancelotti been manager instead of Jose the league would've seen a legend. Instead the see an expensive luxury player.

You've had Mata and Cahill for the same price as he cost, when put like that its ridiculous.

Don't write Torres off. He will do well under Benitez for you, question is how long does Rafa stay or allowed to stay. Change of manager could halt momentum for him.

Infuriated we haven't gone in for this guy. He's a born goalscorer and was a snip at £7.5Mill.

We couldn't go for him, we have 4 strikers and it's not that easy to sell any of them (if we even want to) because of their wages and transfer fees.

We need a 5th striker? Not allowing for Guidetti either!

80-90k a week for a not needed player, I'd sooner spend that on Isco

I don't really see Balotelli as a striker here, more as an unwanted nuisance. All I'm saying is I'd of preferred him to go on loan as he clearly doesn't seem interested and brought in a much more consistent Ba. I'm confident in Guidetti's ability and nothing would bring me greater joy than to see homegrown talent like him to flourish.

Can't see that, Abramovich will invite his agent to his yacht give him the brown envelope and them officially it will be a 7m deal with BA on 50k a week on 3 year contract ;)

I know people might think I'm crazy but I would rather have Demba Ba over RVP. He's scored 13 goals this season with poor service in a team that is hovering over the relegation zone. RVP has scored 16 goals this season with much better support and service from his team. Ba is also a lot cheaper and would come with much less baggage. He is also 2 years younger, and while his knees are a concern, RVP is not exactly invincible.

Well, most of players in big clubs are worth that much if we'd use full packet with wages and other stuff. Why to do it with Ba only.

Though I can't see a chance for it to be 35 millions. 7 million to Newcastle, let's give an huge one to agent - 5 millions, we'd still need some 120k per week to meet 35 millions on 4 years contract. No chance he'll get that wage even at Chelsea. 80 at max at that's some 25 millions then over 4 years.

Owwww the irony! Think you'll miss him up the toon then?

Honestly i think we will miss his goals.

However i think we will be better off as a team. Towards the end of last season when we were on fire we had Cisse central then Ba and Ben Arfa either side and played good football. Ba was unhappy (apparently his money was goal related and as he was scoring less saw his arse) and demanded to be played through the middle. So this season Pardew played him through the middle he got loads of goals (then promptly left) but we performed worse as a unit.

So hopefully now we can go back to thinking of the greater good and with a couple of new additions get back up the table a bit.

Good luck Demba thank's for the goals.

You Bar Codes can always add the letters "STARD" after his name on your shirts?

Shame he didn't go to Swansea would have loved to hear the Swansea fans chanting his name.

And for the Chelski fans who have the Drogba shirt they don't need to buy another as they can just cross out the DROG.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3030470/title/ba-transfer-completed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/a ... -completed</a>

It's done :(

I think Chelsea have purchased a quality striker from Newcastle.Pardew was upset the lad as gone.
