You really think the team this coming season will resemble the one that finished that far down? Oh and he's bothered about us... apparently it's our fault he can't buy any players. I'll take that as back door victory number one this year!
No but he made that comment last season, before any of the summer transfer business, and back then he was right. That's all I'm saying. And I don't think he's too bothered about us. He's a strong squad, everyone respects his decisions, he pretty much runs things at the club, unlike at Liverpool or Chelsea..etc. He gets to decide what players to bring in and what players to get rid of. He's done an excellent job over the 20 odd years he's been a Man U manager. If he thinks his shopping is done for the summer and he's enough players, well I think people should trust his judgement. Like I said, having an excellent team is better then having an excellent bunch of individuals. You'll never win anything with a team of players only interested in themselves. Players who play for Man U see it as an honour, does Robinho feel humbled and privileged everytime he pulls on the shirt, no, it's about the money. That's why he's here.
And we've set the prize of what to spend on players too high in my opinion, no player is worth what we've been paying for them. And to be honest, if Hughes bought a big name tomorrow and Fergie bought an unknown young player, I could see our lad being a flop while Man U's scoring a Premiership winning goal for Man U. He's not an idiot.
But he's the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world, 79,000 fans in the stadium for a home game, with some of the best young players you could find, going for their 4th title in a row, and the CL and pretty much every other trophey. Do I think he's worried about us, no. I think he's enjoying his time off before a very trying and hectic life kicks back in.
If he spent half his time worrying about us, like you seem to think he does, then there's no way he would have been successful as a mangager. You look after you're own club, you're own players.
You don't spend time worrying about a team that for all the money in the world has made a few stupid buys, I mean 10 big name, big ego forwards who will be misserable and bring a bad attitude to the camp if they're not in the squad, and then we've poor players in the back four. Right now we've no ballance to the team and something the most successful manager in England isn't going to spend time worrying over.
He worries about his own team, like we'll worry about ours. It's the way it should be.
