Them red fans didn't fancy there chances yesterday at all. Its obvious that as the weeks go by that were improving. But lets face facts they are still a good team in fact one of the best teams in Europe, with a manager who knows every trick in the book. They once again only beat us in injury time which just goes to show how close were getting. We need to learn to stay switched on. If we did get fourth spot our owners we hope, would spend big in the summer and next year we would play in Europe with once again a lot of new players so no matter who we bought we may compete for the premiership title but the Champs League would be tough for any side that has just been thrown together. Check the other big spenders. Yesterday was about nailing United and keeping the run in for fourth place, it was about Spurs getting beat by Chelsea. It was about City being up there in the top four and us becoming a top Europian side for next season. It isn't going to happen over one match, look at our results and we have dropped points in games we should have won and didn't. All the draws etc. etc. We are not there yet, but every club in the country knows that were getting there!

The only consolation I can draw from yesterday is that their goal was a fair one, not a 96th minute highly controversial penalty - now that would really have made me explode.

3 times we have gone head to head with one of best sides in the Prem and been beaten by a last-second goal: sounds like progress to me, considering how things have been in the past. You also have to cinsider the despot has been at the swamp for almost a quarter of a bloody century, Bobby Manc has only been here 4 months. Some of the tyrant's team have been playing for him for over a decade now(Giggs, Scholes, Ratboy etc), most of ours have been recent acquisitions.

We all new it was going to take time, and time is the one thing we have in abundance. The detestable scum do not have that luxury.
So all things considered, yes it was a bad day for us yesterday, particularly with Spuds winning. But it's not over yet. We are capable of winning all our remaining games (and maybe drawing at the Emirates)' so 4th place is certainly not out of our hands.

Just a bad day? Behave. Yet again when it mattered we blew it. Since we have become a club of means we have lost every game that really mattered without a whimper. Forrest. Hamburg. United semis. United yesterday. Stoke the list is long. We played the worst united side of the last next decade yesterday with arguably our best side and we bottled it. So frustrating. The only mandate for new players is simple. Buy winners!

what we need most is full backs who stop crosses coming into the box. Bridge and co, simply dont do this. Watch how evra and neville block so many compared to ours.

The day though could have been abit worse, Spurs could have easily scored 2-3 more to boost the goal difference. Chelsea were that bad yesterday, i worried about them when they started with Deco (just strolls around these days), then they brought on Ballack (deco x2) due to Mikels injury and used thier other 2 subs at half time. Then start of 2nd half Drogba got injured but no more subs so they kept him on but he was abit punchless due to the injury (spurs do get alot of luck like this, RVP no doubt will play 90 mins v us but only 20 v spurs).

And of course Terry's sending off didnt help them. How spurs didnt score 4-5 was only down to some shcoking finishing as they ripped chelsea apart on the break by just attacking with speed (no 15 passes along the back and slow buildup).

If Villa/Pool get a result and city/spurs both lose next weekend, then its all game on again for all 4 teams with 3 games (2 for pool) left

For me, watching the game I thought we were heading for a draw and 1 point. As it ended we got 0 points so from one perspective you could say that we've only dropped one point and even if we had got that Spurs would still be 4th right now. It's still in our hands COMPLETELY.

We'd be some side if we had a more balanced midfield, hopefully that will be sorted out in the summer.

we were dire all over the park.

only comparatively speaking

We were just as bad against Liverpool and Everton at home. In fact, every time we come up against a team who play with some tempo and desire, we look second best. We were second best against Wigan until the sending off as well...

Mancini really needs to be a little more flexible in the way he sets out the team to defend. We don't press the opposition in their own half. Which is exactly what Spurs did yesterday against Chelsea.
