What do they mean?

I know ours is something to do with the ship canal and the 3 stripes that represent the 3 rivers that run through Manchester. Also Malcolm Allison, who believed that adopting the colours of AC Milan would inspire City to win stuff?? But anyone who lives and breathes football can tell us about other badge emblems from other clubs ( except the rags cos I don't give a fuck about them ) would be interesting to know.
