Irwell, Medlock & Irk are the 3 rivers that meet in the city centre...

the ship on the 'canal' represents Manchester's heritage as a trading port

They suggest the 3 stripes is a myth... because they can't find any evidence to support the 3 rivers theory... what a load of bollocks...
