Used to be a decent, laid back place. However, I haven't been there since before the 'Arab Spring' so I don't know what the place is like now.

I've been to the Airport in Bahrain, on my way to Qatar which is near there and has a very similar flag.
It was nice. I Don't think it's as Westernised as Qatar and UAE though.

Sand oil rig spares to the coast a KFC near the airport. speed traps (for hire cars ) sand and people that stare at you if you are not local
