He ticks most of the boxes quick, strong, young, good in the air and skilful on the ground and his one season in the PL has shown he can score at that level with 'average' service! Paying £25m for Benteke just because he's had one decent season in the premier league would be absolutely moronic, Santa Cruz MkII. He wouldn't suit our style of play in the slightest. Same goes for Baines, we don't play 6 foot 5 elbow machines in attack, so whats the point in getting a rank average defender who has a great cross on him?
I'd far rather we put the emphasis on getting players who fit our system and style than obsessing about "premier league experience"

Negredo and Jovetic have been regular performers intheir leagues - taking you philosophy then Messi / Cavani etc would b a punt.
Benteke at 22 looks a decent option but he certainly isn't proven and also playing for City would be a different type of football and different pressures.
Baines will cost 20 mill fora left back - not sure this is value for monet when Clichy is well up to the job
