Ballon D'or Tonight

Even though Messi will win it, I've never seen him look as jaded and ineffective as he did against Espanyol last night. I doubt this will be a regular thing but it was proof that Messi may be prone to *gasp* a loss of form.

I think it's time Xavi won it. He dictates every game I see him in for club and country.

Agreed! I'd love to see Xavi win it. Such a great player that I feel often gets overlooked.

:O

Nevaaarh!

IIRC was he not a little off the pace at the beginning of the season? I'm sure I heard a few murmurings that he was looking a little tired and overweight.

I just saw Neymar`s goal - fuck me it was an absolute beauty and should win goal of the season. The fat twat with the dead hamster super glued on to his head has no chance with his lucky, shinned in off the shin pads strike.

some of the nominations are a joke though. Seems you can only get nominated if your a well known team/player/manager.

Managers shortlist:Guardiola (Barcelona= Fair enough) BUT Mourinho (for winning equivelent of Carling cup only at Madrid) and Ferguson (winning PL and Charity Shield). Surely there are other nations out there who's team has won the league against the odds, probably some who have done the double, but they arnt "established" enough probably.

The 3 goals of the year (incs Rooneys shin overhead kick) are abit weak also. Ive seen Barcelona score better goals than the 1 they are nominated for

Neymar wins goal of the year ahead of Shrek, woo hoo!

Deserved. It was a superb goal. Surprised at the 3 though to be quite honest.

FIFA/FIFPro team of the year:
Iker CASILLAS, Sergio RAMOS, Gerard PIQUE, Nemanja VIDIC, Daniel ALVES, Andres INIESTA, XAVI, Xabi ALONSO, Cristiano RONALDO, Wayne ROONEY, Lionel MESSI.

Only three teams represented.
