I hate these comparison threads that I always see on "ragcafe" but last night it was enough. A good mate of mine who is a die hard rag had the nerve to say that Danny effing Welbeck is better than Mario Balotelli?. I mean one goal and one assist and he is "miles ahead" as he had more assists than Mario last season for a weaker team. At first I thought it was a joke but he pressed on and on to the point I had to stop replying AS HE REALLY BELIEVES IT.

Even Mario haters know this cannot be true please dont let me find out there are those on blue shores who feel the same?. I mean this is blasphemy. I tried to say Mario has already won more and contributed more on a club, cup and national level and his response was that Giggs had won more than Zidane doesnt mean he is a better player. Is there any discussion with that bunch I dont get it?.

Does anyone feel that Danny Welbeck is a better player than Mario Balotelli please list reasons why?..

No, just because welbeck scored a goal for the scum it doesn't make him better than Balo, Balo has represented his country and played in the CL from a very young age and is 100 times a better player than welbeck will ever be
I have noticed that every time a scum player scores a goal the media are all over him, you didn't see that with Dzeko or Barry
The rags really are a bunch of pathetic deluded cunts

Time for Mario to prove this isn't the case. That's the only way to silence doubters. Twelve months after signing though he has hardly set the world on fire despite his tremendous talent.

I am not much of a who is the better player kind of guy. Who has produced the most of late. ANd to be fair, they are both potentially good or great in the Prem. Neither has lit it up yet. Clearly watching Balo, one can't but believe he is about to tear the league up. But he hasn't yet, and neither has Wellbeck.

Fair comment that, one id agree with.

Welbeck isn't on the same planet as Balotelli. Tell him to come back when he's won the Youth Balon D'Or. Which will be fucking never.
!!!

Wellbeck is a trier who gets his head down & makes the best of very limited talent, Balotelli is a drama queen who wants to be the centre of attention & makes the worst of fantastic talent.

If he suddenly gets Wellbeck's mentality, he'll be one of the best players in the world. If he carries on as he is, he may end up in even more obscurity than Wellbeck eventually will.

ooooooooooooooooh ballotelli
hes better than wellbeck
hes a better player
just cos wellbeck scored it makes him world class
balloteli has skill, charchter and goal scoring ability

oooooooooooooooooh ballotelli

I would agree as well. At the moment I would probably go for Welbeck based on what he did last year. Mario might have all the potential but we have seen very very little of it in games so far.

i think wellbeck will become the better player, you can see his hunger and determination to become a top player. with mario all ive seen so far is a few nice shots n finishes and one or two flicks. no work rate, no desire to succeed no nothing. i keep hearing about all this potential but as of yet its still a myth to me.

And don't forget the staggeringly kindergarten age of the MANUre squad last night - now they've offloaded Ratface and The Ginger Pig. Even got a mention on R(ag)BBC this morning. The question to ask is this - "If Welbeck were such a prodigious talent why wasn't he playing in the first team from the minute he reached his majority. The likes of Owen, FatScouseGit, Trevor F were all holding down first team places in their teens. They can't afford a world class striker so what they have on the books has just been branded a galactico! It's the way the Rags operate and it filters down through their in-house media organs, the Stretford Evening Standard, StretfordSN, and RagBBC.

Its funny cos yesterday all my rag mates were pleading with Fergie to take him off 'he's shit', 'all he can do is run', 'his movement is clueless', 'first touch poor' etc...

Yet when he scored, it was like Christ had risen again.

Balotelli is a world class talent and this is a shit argument, but... I truly believe this world class level of competition for places will inspire him to become what we all know he can be. The best of the lot. Here's hoping, cos I love the big stupid dog that is Mario Balotelli.

What a sight it was when Balotelli actually tried in some of those Inter matches.

Get that knee situation straightened out you little fucker. It's slowed you down for us enough. :)

Spot on. We all know Balotelli COULD be great; it's now time for him to actually prove it.

Can't judge yet but from what we've seen Balo has talent but lacks the attitude that Welbeck has is spades.

Both clubs have been here before. United had Macheda, who looked great but turned out to be so-so at best and we had Ireland, whose head never really allowed him to make use of his prodigious talent.

Ask the question again in two or three years time.

Wellbeck I'm afraid, not only because of his attitude and team ethic but also because I can't remember the last time Balo scored a league goal.

Same age those two. Balo was scoring goals while Welbeck was training with the little lads.

Perhaps, some research would show the goals he scored for us last season. ;)
