Always a dilemma with what to do with yourself on a Bank Holiday Weekend. It's a little easier this time as the weathers looking good to go.Whatever you get up to have a great day out in the sun.

It's no coincidence that a Spitfire flew over Bury yesterday announcing the start of the three day 1940's weekend on the East Lanc's Railway.Lots of things to see and do with two days of activities still to go.So dust off your dancing shoes for a weekend of vintage and glamour at this award-winning event.Live music and entertainment historical exhibitions battle re-enactments which are top notch and much much more from Britain’s finest hour ! They even have a working spitfire that you can sit in and flash up at a small charge at the transport museum so come as you are or dress up in all your 1940's regalia for a funtastic day out in the Lancastrian sun.On at Bury Ramsbottom and Rozzendorf (Rawtenstall).Today we are doing Bury and I highly recommend a few scoops at the Track-side station ale house.

Here is the full itinerary. http://www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk/events-activities/2018/5/1940s-weekend.aspx?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Ad Words&utm_campaign=1940s&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIue6hi6Kl2wIVyb3tCh3urwYKEAAYASAAEgL9DfD_BwE

Been quite a change around at the pub at the other end.
They tried different beers but, fortunately, went back to Timmmermanns last week for the fruit beer.

Buffer stops a cracking pub mate and one we use regularly.Their own lager is fantastic. They do have their work cut out with all the new micro pubs opening.Nice to sit on the station platform on a sunny day with a gill of beer to hand.

Indeed it is, however the kids tell me the that two of the three new micro breweries are better and the new owner had run it down somewhat.
One of the new ones is run by the guy who started up Buffer Stops, about two hundred yards away but without the view.

Well don’t do what I did. Go out, get wankered, walk home and try to get in the wrong house and have the police deliver you to your more than happy wife. Not a good day here.

Top work. Only bettered if you got in and banged some other bloke’s wife.

Con Club on Friday night, fancy pub for football last night and high street pub tonight for karaoke.

If any of you have done West Ham away (at Upton Park) then you may know The Denmark Arms.
