Shocked that Palace wouldn't wear there away kit so that Barnsley could wear there own kit. Yes it was a mistake and should have been rectified before, but surely Palace could have allowed it this once?
Just wondering if anything similar has happened at City? (Not including the infamous yellow away kit!)
I seem to vaguely recall us wearing an away kit against spurs at home about 6/7 years ago, but could be wrong with this?
sure some of you out there will have knowledge on this...

We wore our red and black away kit at home to Spurs after the ref said our blue shirts clashed with their white ones!!!
It happened at Maine Road and we had to go off with about 10 mins gone and get changed!

I definitely remember us wearing another team's shorts in one away match during the mid to late 90s. I want to say it was Burnley, but can't be 100%.

I remember city players having to wear burnley shorts in the league cup at turf Moore. Terry Cooke scored the winner that night.

It was Burnley. Think it was the 01/02 season.

my 1st ever game, also the marron game when redmond/clarke goal was the winner

City in maroon, Spurs in yellow. I think it was because of fog if I'm not mistaken. 1990/91 season.

I remember when Middlesbrough played against us at Maine Road back in 81 (17/01/81), Boro were forced to wear united shirt.

The game was to shown on the box that night, at the time sponsored shirts could not be worn for televised games so their kitman had to nip over to the swamp to borrow theirs

City twice played Spurs at home wearing the away kit. Not too sure it was the fog, just the light blue (and white first time) and light yellow were deemed to close for the ref or TV.
The first time, (85 or 86...where's Gary James!) City started in blue but the ref called the Spurs team over after less than 5 mins and told them to change.... I recall a City player being awarded offside and no way was he! Spurs hadn't got their away kit, so City were ordered off to rounds of ''what the fuck is going on?' from the Kippax.
City won both games!

I think I'm also correct in saying that Middlesbrough once forgot their kit and someone nipped over to The Swamp and they had to play in the rags shirts!
